I think this will impact tanks the most, especially since 2 out of 3 need to use both resources. (WAR only used mana for flash before SB)

Eliminating TP changes a few things by pure happenstance. You can take out all refresh abilities related to it, freeing up hotbar space for additional skills in 5.0. AST's will no longer get 'a definitely RR this card'. And it's a resource among multiple that will no longer need to be micromanaged with melee jobs as I believe they already have plenty. If they want to pacify weaponskills, I think the best way to do it is to throw in mechanics that need to be avoided, which we already have.
I can't speak for DPS casters, but for healers I rather enjoy having to manage MP. I also don't mind it at all on my DRK and it makes the gameplay engaging. Outside our primary roles, we don't have much to do other than add damage which doesn't have much of a gimmick to it, so keeping track of MP makes things a little more interesting.
On my NIN, the only time I have to even worry about my TP is when spamming Death Blossom. Even when revived during a trial or dungeon boss, it's basically wait a couple seconds to get a heal and then get back in there swinging. I feel that TP is an antiquated system carried over from XI and 1.0 that just needs to go away.
I could see more interactive job mechanics added (bummer if you don't like your mechanics though lol, MORE LILIES) and all mp, generally, removed like TP.. but I feel like MP is such a staple to the FF series that it would just feel weird to do that. Also some jobs interesting mechanic could literally be mp, so even if you remove mp from most jobs it would probably still live on in a few.
While I think it's possible I think it's like trying to have a final fantasy game without chocobos or moogles, you could do it.. but it'd probably feel wrong and be a mistake lol.
IMO I think its more of a consolidation to no longer have 3 bars on screen and that TP skills and abilities are going to be converted to use MP instead. My thoughts on it anyway.
Considering TP is only ever an issue right after a rez or when you maintain aoe attacking due to how much they've nerfed TP costs over time, it's basically useless at this point.
I doubt they'll do any changes to MP or how spellcasters work, merely keep everything that used MP before continuing to use it in Shadow Bringers, and just wiping TP out completely. I'm more interested to see what they'll do with the spire as a result of this; goad/BRD TP refresh to a lesser extent since I think those might just be straight deleted.
I think the best route would be to delete them... if you imagine all tp regeneration skills turn into mp then you might have the same issue TP had where it's like "but y tho". Also saving a button can mean a new better spell from the expansionConsidering TP is only ever an issue right after a rez or when you maintain aoe attacking due to how much they've nerfed TP costs over time, it's basically useless at this point.

Yet they'll have to yet again change the Ast early quest line as they've had to do already due to npc age sillyness.
As long as the class gauges are added to the party UI, I'm good.
Weapon skills wont have a cost. AOE skills will have a mp cost. And certain abilities will have either their cost removed, cost adjusted or cooldown adjusted.
It makes perfect sense from the developer side.
No longer he will be bothered by the TP that has little effect for the gameplay, also there will be smaller packets send between user and server, so removing so meaningful thing will be good for the game.
