choosing a monitor for this game advice

so im having an issue deciding which to use as my main monitor recently. im trying to decide between 2560x1440p 144hz with G Sync or 4k 60 hz with G Sync my pc is in my signature. basically the biggest determining facter is does FPS make a huge difference with this game like it does with fps games.

FPS becomes an issue in an mmo like this when it dips too low like say less than 24 FPS.

I'd choose your monitor based on your other needs as well.

im leaning towards the 4k because my pc can easily stay around 70-90 fps in this game at 4k maxed settings

Doubt there would be significant value out of 144hz with this game, but you'd have to keep in mind that you might want to play a twitch based mass changing rate pixel pusher game in the future (like FPS or very fast driving games). Cameras not going to move too much in mmo lol.

If Final Fantasy is the only game for you then 4k would probably serve you better.

I didn't really see the benefit of HFR in this game tbh. It messes with the movement physics, and you dont really get any benefits that make it better than 60hz. AT least to me anyway.

How does high frame rate mess with the physics?

It lessens them. Hair, clothes and such have reduced physics.

I also have had weird issues with a 2nd screen that's 60hz when using a 130 or 144hz panel. Game fps dips significantly when anything is happening on the other screen, something that doesn't happen with 2 60hz panels.

Lol had to look up the physics thing, looks like jiggle physics might be affected by frame rate... : https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...significantly/

Also OP, some people's opinion on it: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...0hz_for_ffxiv/
