Free Company in-game Finder - What other MMOs have and we don't

Hi there guys,

Since I started playing FFXIV I literally fell in love with everything in the game.
I have tried another MMOs and I feel this game is the best and with the best community.

The topic is, at least for me (and I will be so glad to read your opinion), see that Linkshells are justified for hunts but don't fulfill the purpose of meeting new people like other MMOs: joining a legion/guild/free company and encourage playing with people of your free company.

Maybe I am not old enough in the game and this topic had been on the table for ages, but I don't find any active discussion asking this to the development team.

• Are you happy with the actual configuration of the free companies?
  
• Don't you believe it is harder to meet new people in FFXIV than other games? (besides FFXIV has the best community)
  
• In other games, there is an option in the UI to find/look for this. Do you feel this will be good or bad for the game in case of being introduced?

There is a search facility on the loadstone which allows you to find Free Companies on your world by part of their name. It's not ideal I will agree though.

However once you have found the Free Company you want to join you have to try and find a member of that Free Company or make your way to their house (if they have one) in order to submit an application. Again this is not ideal.

When I started it was just a few minutes before I started getting Free Company invites. I did a quick lookup and some of them were from the largest Free Companies on the world - well I guess if they blind invite anyone then they get to be big. That's not the Free Company I wanted thanks. Big is not better in many things.

I'd love to see the search facility enhanced so that one of the search terms can be Free Company name/tag (or part of it). This would allow potential members to quickly locate an online member of that Free Company as well as see just how active it is during the times that the potential member plays.

I think Linkshells have uses that justify their existence but it should also be easier to find the right FC in-game. I'd love to see a search function with filters for FC tags, names, housing and the amount of members.

I've said in other posts that there should be a board in each citystate where you can post things like FC recruitments for people to check.

The only thing so far seen that FFXIV miss is the autopath to a player be able order his/her character move from the point A to B auto.

In order to meet new people you meet if you meet if you don't meet you don't.

My feeling is FFXIV miss this, since every MMO I've played has something like the system linked.

Ty! Useful suggestion didn't mean in bad way meant for you to join a huge FC with many active players and let it flow.

Linkshells works just fine, they are created by players and thats why it is in this shape.
And i dont find it harder to meet new people, fc are inviting every players they see without one.

But linkshells are for another purposes.
The system used in the majority of MMOs is people applying to companies, instead of companies searching for people by shouting.

Do you feel is 100% efficient to have to read every shout in Limsa Lominsa, have to afk in-game to look in lodestone for a free company and look for that specific someone who could invite you instead of looking in-game a menu panel where all free companies are listed with a recruitment chart and you apply directly to the one you desire?

I think a FC finder would be a fairly good thing to have, it would at least give less reason for people to randomly throw around invites.
