No one's thread is ever that important that a mod needs to contribute to it, especially when there are tons are duplicates out there that we don't need but players still seem to think their thread deserves the most attention. If it were Blizzard forums such threads would be merged with others in to a mega thread and you wouldn't have choice in the matter where it got moved. Mods are definitely out there though and they do contribute to stuff that is actually pretty useful, like FanFest questions or PvP adjustments.

I interpreted it differently. It's not that one particular thread deserved special attention, but rather, it was a sign that moderators or community representatives were watching what's going on here, yet they've remained silent. To be honest, the silence can get unnerving at times. Blue Mage is a rather hot topic right now. What does SE think about all of it? We don't know. It's been two months since the announcement was made and the controversy hasn't been well-addressed. Maybe they aren't ready to talk about it yet, but even a simple acknowledgement that people's concerns have been heard can go a long way. They don't need to talk with us every day, but I think more communication would be appreciated.

I would think talking about recently released content would be worth putting into general discussion.

Instead, BLU threads are being shunted into dps roles discussion. This is really strange, but it wont stop the threads being made.

This! lol I every time I saw that I was like why was that even asked! Or pet glams while skipping over the part where the pet AI is still jacked. Lol is this what our side of the community cares about.

Only time I've seen community reps is when you get new additions and they give their blanket statement of how nice it'll be to interact or work with the team and the community. And then. Poof. You never hear from them again.

Like a snowflake that melts away at the first sign of any interaction.

Aren't those questions intentionally hand-picked by them? Every Q&A thread I've seen had interesting questions that were ignored for the more superficial ones.

Also on topic: I agree with the original poster. Every MMO I've played had active community managers interacting with the players, it was part of their job, even the worst p2w Korean MMOs had some semblance of community interaction between the company and the players, every game but this one. All we get is indirect, delayed responses that aren't even worthy to be offered an official English translation while they happen.

No, it won't. Moving BLU threads in the DPS discussion is not going to make the threads go away until the frustration over this starts to die out. The other problem is that it almost feels as if the mods are trying to silence the negativity. Which just causes more frustration for players. Addressing the comments at the top of this page, I wasn't looking for having the mods look at my particular thread - there are multiple threads out there that have come to the same solution of either making it OP since it's lacking as a solo job outside of the Carnivale, or unlocking it for players. For me personally, yes, it pissed me off that it pretty much got moved with nary a word, so that was my personal tipping point.

But best believe that the leveling exploit got highlighted very quickly and was announced rather quickly. It didn't take long for them to notice that chocobos got boosted xp with BLU and hotfixed it in a week's timeframe (admittedly, though, that was a nice QoL change and I do thank the devs for actually buffing the xp for other jobs). So I know the mods are paying attention to what is being said. If they can't or won't speak, fine, not a problem. But some kind of acknowledgement would actually go a ways towards curtailing some of the frustration that I know a lot of us have felt. Maybe not particularly with BLU, but certainly with many things that have occurred through the entirely of 4.x. They're apt to post things on the Lodestone - that would've sufficed, in my opinion.

If there were that many they should have started a BLU Feedback Megathread.

But that would require customer interaction.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

To offer a different perspective, I'd point out that pretty much every single community rep appears to make ample use of Twitter. A site which is by far more prone to aggressive posting and drama than this place. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they're not delicate little flowers who cannot handle working with the portion of the FFXIV community that flocks to this site. Things may get a little heated here from time to time, but they're nowhere near as bad as the arguments that take place on Twitter.

My theory - which may very well be mistaken - is that they've been told to promote the game primarily using major social media sites and this site is largely overlooked as a consequence. I don't doubt that our feedback here is passed along from time to time, though it's hard not to be a little cynical given how long people had to post about the way in which the European promotions were handled before getting an official response and that was, objectively, a serious issue in need of a timely response.
