    Launcher showing black screen

    Hello!
    I'm having a problem with the launcher appearing completely black like many others have reported before. I can still make out where the previous UI elements are based off of changes in the mouse cursor and memory and then log into the game but it is somewhat bothersome to have to do that every time I want to play the game.

    I have tried all the suggested solutions that were given in this thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...o-black-screen with no success.
    Another PC in the household does not suffer from the same problem ruling out an ISP issue.
    I also tried disabling Windows Defender and firewall momentarily to see if that is the issue, but no success from that.
    I have also tried restoring the system to a date where it definitely worked (1/18/2019) but the problem persists.
    I have also tried uninstalling the game and downloading the launcher again with no success.

    The image background for the pending maintenance does show up but again, the text and UI elements do not appear.

    Are there any other solutions to this?

    Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Have any updates to the computer been made at all? Also were any changes made to the PC set up? How long has this crash been happening? Additionally I am unable to see the images posted in the links provided. Please post them in another image hosting website such as imgur.

    No changes have been made to the computer I am currently on or the other PC other than the Windows 10 2019-01 Update. The launchers were working on both computers for at least 2 weeks since the update.
    This has been going on for 3 days.

    What kind of connection do you have by the way? If using WIFI, have you tried connecting directly to the router? If you have not done so already, please try the following:

    -Update Internet Explorer:

    Open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    I've tried connecting to the router directly with no success.
    Also tried the suggestion which was in the thread linked again with no success.

    I've been having this problem but it only happens when I exit the game. All my drivers are up to date all with everything else.
