New guy lookin for a LS!

Hey! I'm a new player and loving the game so far, and I was wondering if there were any Link Shells out there that have room for a level 13 Pugilist. I also plan on going into Thaugmentry and maybe a few crafting classes. My character's name is Ivan Morrow and I'm currently in Ul'dah, mainly because it's so pretty XD

Rather than start a new thread I'll just beg and plead here.

I returned from an 11 month break last week, and while the content has changed for the better, the social scene seems to be all but dead. I'm am looking to get into an ACTIVE ls, does such a thing exist anymore (for low level players)? So far I've joined 3 different linkshells, all of which boasted of 50+ members. But in reality there's maybe 6 people still playing, and never more than 2 on at once. I had a chance to get into to one ls which seemed more active than the others, but I guess they didn't like my application to join their SOCIAL ls....

I was in Aes Sedai Tower in my brief run before I took a break, wtf happened to them!!??

Anyways, so far 31ARC is my highest. I still don't have a firm grasp of the ins and outs of ffxiv, but I'm learning something new every time I log on, and hell every time I look at the forums too. I considered myself to be a very helpful player in XI, and can't wait for the day when I can be helpful here too! But for now, sadly, it is I who needs help. Heck all I really want are some friends lol...

@ Odd Thomas: don't worry about the social scene - it is picking up dramatically after two things happen. The first, being the server merge coming up. The second being the addition of classic jobs via 1.21 (currently slated for March 6th-9th.) Most people that have stuck with the game this far are pretty much maxed on jobs and content so a lot of us are just kicking back as we wait for the new stuff.

Either way, welcome back. There are some very friendly and helpful people on Besaid.

Good news! Aes Sedai Tower is still around, they've just repearled a few times (They make a new linkpearl and redistribute it amongst members when there's too many inactive folks, due to a cap on how many people can join an LS). Bad news: It's kinda in the same boat as those other shells you've mentioned, with only a few people on at any time :/

Oh how I wish this was true. I spent 6 hours yesterday shouting in Ul'dah trying to get a Toto-rak run together. I had one fellow newbie with me and I eventually shouted an offer of a 100k reward for help from someone who doesn't need it. It was pathetic how many people wanted to be be mercs (about 8) compared to how many wanted to genuinely help (0).

But anyways, you're right. With server merges a month away it should get a whole lot better, and I don't think I'll stay here.

First, I know this has been said probably as many times as "it's coming in 2.0," but I feel I should mention it here...

Find a good linkshell. A lot of people are high level now and would only help their fellow mates with low content. No excuse for them not helping strangers, just a tip for how to get help. TheVedis has a good linkshell list right here in this subforum. Poke through it and see if any of them fit you.
