Balmung, The unofficial Roleplaying Server

Hello everyone, i decided to wait a little before posting this topic, simply so more people could settle in from all the server merge stuff.

As you are no doubt aware, due to the large amount of publicity we've gotten on the forums lately, that Besaid is the unofficial home of the roleplaying community. With the coming merger, Besaid will be coming together with Fabul server to become Balmung, and with it, the RP community will be proud to call Balmung it's home.

What does this mean for you?

If you roleplay:
It means there's a chance for you to transfer to Balmung from any other server and join in the community! Make new friends, meet rpers from accross the globe, and come together to share in unique player driven story events, contests, social gatherings, anything you can possibly imagine. Contribute by holding your own events and inviting the community at large to come and attend! Everyone is welcome no matter their skill level, from beginner, to the most advanced veteran of prose and storywriting.

Many linkshells are already on hand and happy to welcome new members. If you've never roleplayed before, and are interested in joining in, we'll show you anything you'd like to know, and help nurture your creativity.

If you do not roleplay:
Effectively, it means nothing. Nothing will change for you, you can continue to play however you wish, be it casual or hardcore or both! With a wealth of linkshells both old and new to join and play together with, regular pick up groups for grinding, coffers, notorious monsters, and plenty of endgame content including darkhold, moogle, and ifrit runs.

Roleplayers will be a factor, this is true, and at times you will happen upon us rping in /say if we're in a larger gathering, however we are kind and helpful creatures, and we're more than happy to cater to well mannered people who can ask nicely and explain to us if we're being disruptive to their play.

All in all, be you from Fabul, or be you from Besaid server. Welcome to Balmung, we look forward to meeting you all!

I'm sure you were in good intentions with this post but the sooner people just stop talking about it, the sooner it no longer matters. This is not a case of all publicity is good publicity. All it does is give the trolls another opportunity to spew their drivel and gives the defenders another chance to get trolled and to embarrass themselves.

not having posts like this at the top of the forums at all times(the server ones) is why the RPist community got spread out in the first place, cuz there was no way to research it since no one ever talked about it

I'll echo my agreement in saying that this is a needed post-and I'm considering transferring my characters here; my only concern at the moment is I spend a lot of my time playing solo, and don't want to transfer to a server that is too crowded (remember Cape Teriggan back in the day? /shudder).

Being a non-roleplayer on Besaid, I can vouch the RPers are not a problem on my server in the 4 months I've been playing. So don't fear that you'll be bombarded by RP if you choose this server. I find myself forgetting that this is an RP server a lot lol.

Glad to know the RP vocal Rp community is still calling Besaid+Fabul/Balmung their home; hopefuly these posts will help the rest of the Rp players find their way to the server! looking foward to seeing more of you and meeting everyone from Fabul!
