Suggestion for Companion Glamour

I was wondering what others would think if we had the ability to glam our companion chocobo to be most any other mount we owned. This would of course have to be limited due to mount size and ability. For example; change my companion to look like my griffon, that way my griffon is fighting with me and following me around. They already have to fight mechanics for most of these creatures in the game. Is it possible, would anyone care?

I think they could add some more companion options, like someone wanted a wyvern a few threads ago - but it might be a bit of a tall order for all mounts to be an option since the chocobo has/needs animations for certain actions (attacks, different kicks, etc).

I'd like to see the squadron, companion, trust, and retainer systems get a bit of blending as well, so I think you could perhaps call your retainer to help you rather than your chocobo (or both given some sort of special item / rank).

I can't say if I think its possible or not but I think it could work and be neat , just perhaps not for every mount (I think some of our mounts have animations prepared, like fenrir probably could work, but some of our mounts most likely do not have a full set of animations).

I like the idea of a retainer helping instead of a companion, that sounds really neat.

I just want my Path Companion from 1.0 to come back, thinly-veiled come-ons and all (Path Companions had actual story dialogue in cutscenes as well as fight alongside you in story battles, the miqo'te Path Companion's comments always being rather... sexual in nature):







Alas I think it's now a lost cause sadly (what with the Chocobo Companion being the initial replacement in ARR, and now the Grand Company Squadrons and the soon to be added Trust system from FFXI), I think my Path Companion Imarah is now gone forever *sniff*...

Do not give up hope!

I miss our 1.0 companions as well. I think it could be neat to reintroduce them with special dialog for 1.0 players as a delivery NPC (with battle related options for the non-DOH/DOL). Where in after enough helping unlocks them as a special squadron/retainer, meaning that you can have them take up a retainer slot (your choice) AND they will be available in your squadron without extra slot cost (doesn't cost a squadron slot, can be added even if your squad is full). Now add all the 1.0 companions back in over time like this, such that one player could have all of them given enough work lol.

Of course as mentioned earlier in an other post, allow our squadron/retainers to join us in the fray completing the union . Also that filthy mouthed Miqote was my favorite lol. I didn't mention trust just because I don't know what that system will look like, may consider moving them to the trust variant if it's better (just don't know what it does to say much).
