In what dimension was FFXI harder than wow ?
And to answer the Op's question, there is nothing wrong with WOW, i guess different strokes for different folks.
Oh and BTW: Time sinks do not = hard![]()

I did do research thats what I was told. And I used my roleplay. The guys who harassed me were rp'ers. I was just lvl 1
a;lso to add yes games should be fun. But said fun should be tailored to the audince of choice. Mixing several types of gamers into 1 game is not a good thinhg always. It makes for bad communities.
But again to the other guy. Making ecuses for it isn't good. All research I can do was the WoW forums and on the actual servers. I went to every server that was rp... they all pretty much had bad communities. I tried normal servers, again bad communities. I was nearly on all WoW severs last october. And not found 1 i was willing to stick with.

You obviously never joined Andorhal, as I can attest to the fact that there's good people on there, assuming you avoid the shit people and shit guilds (damned if I can remember their names anymore) and look to the good people and good guilds, both of which are well-known on the server forums. Most of the people I've had good experiences with--in and out of my guild--were generally laid back and friendly. You'd have people shit-talking each other in trade, sure, but most of it was either just for laughs or to point out what a self-serving douche an admitted self-serving douche was and how amazing it was that people were still inviting him to their PUG raids, though I can understand how outsiders might be put off by it, seeing as they obviously don't have a clear understanding of the server's "(in)famous faces", and are therefore seeing things out of context. But again to the other guy. As for RP research, the WoW forums are the last place you'd ever want to conduct serious research as to where the good RP communities are; you'd almost certainly want to try looking in one of the LJ groups or find a fansite dedicated to WoW RP and asking questions there.

Well FFXI had 1 boss that only about 20linkshell globally could kill (PW), and 1 I boss I think 2-3 groups tops killed before the level increase (AV) both these bosses where out for 2+ years prior to the abysea game nerf. With CoP people would fail the normal storyline missions upwards of 10-20times before finally getting the strategy right to beat it, still to this date there is nothing in a mmo that has ever been released as hard as original CoP was that was not endgame. That and bosses that required 20-30 people to take down, and many fights that took upwards of 1-2hrs to finally win.
In the end almost no PvE is hard. All NPC controlled mobs and characters have a set way of acting, so once a solid strategy is down by the whole group it is a joke to kill. Fight something the first time it is hard as crap to kill, the 10th time it is a joke, the 20th time you can low man it, the 30-40th time you could probally duo/trio it if you where geared enough.
PW (the infamous 15+hr HNM of ffxi which really only takes about 100mins if you do not completely suck) is a prime example there where a top notch LS out that could kill it in about 80-100mins with 20 ppl with minimal deaths, and other linkshells that brought litterally 80-100 ppl to it would continuously wipe time and time again and ended up timing out at the 2hr point. Watching a video of a fight in FFXI makes it look like a complete joke, but then again most people who post video are not in the average linkshells. Even something as horribly boring as a tiamat/nidhogg fight where it is the same crap over and over is not easy at all the first time a group of people attempt it.
All I know in WoW I could go into a dungeon for the first time every and succeed without much trouble, hardmode not so much that took more focus, but anything hardcore in FFXI's endgame 1 person screwing up out of the group of 30 would possibly cause a 1-4hr ordeal to turn into a complete fail.
WoW was the first rp mmo I tried I'm more used to MUD rp. (which is better anyway) No one should ever make excuses for bad communities. If you found diamond in the rough grouds. Congratz, fact of the matter is it shou;d be like that. And when ffxi was first out well for me on ps2, it wasn't hard to find helpful ppl. I made alot of friends and a long term b/f after my first year. And was with my b/f up till recently.
You again?
Just go back to wow.
And yes,FFXI was 547 times harder than wow,in every way imaginable.
