This is true , but if we dont correct people lingo in a nice way or easy to understand way thay will never learn. Like we dont PST we /tell /TELL its called freaking /TELL just use /tell what the hell is wrong with you its /TELL! jezz man! ok sorry i feal better now :PWell im guessing Hardcore wow players would be stumped when trying to play FFXIV.
Leroy J: LF Raiding Guild
xXSephirothXx: GTFO! we dont effin have raids.... *yet.
Leroy J: ....okay...
Leroy J: LF PvP Guild ! /t Leroy J
xXSephirothXx: ...omg...GTF back to WoW no0b!
Thats the reason they dont play FFXIV.
WoW: Cartoonish
FF: Classy.
That's the main difference what people feel is "wrong" with WoW. And it's just a preference issue, yet still important.
When Yoshida started making changes, people were offended because some of the changes removed some of the "classiness" of the game. The aggro icon felt cartoonish, and so did some of the larger monster models.
Personally I did like the way they did the quest icon, as it wasn't a huge yellow exclamation mark but something more subtle and not in-your-face (and you can't even see it if you're not close enough). That's the kind of thing people are looking for.

WoW is actually harder than XI in a lot of respects, it is just that XI was much more curel. WoW raid boses were dynamic, engaging and tough with gear available before you killed the boss. a dungoen comes out and NONE of the 14 million players that paly it compelte the dungion before 3-4 months is not an easy game.
AV and PW were masochistic hatefull bastards with 0 clues to how to kill them and the penalties for failure where so harsh that the rewards were not worth the substantial effort to learn their mechanics. THe mechanics might not even be that hard but getting 30+ people together to try to Kill AV considering the farming for the mats, the death penalties and the general headach was not worth it so AV didn't die without exploits, that does not make a game hard either, it makes it just cruel and mean.
Prommy missions were challenging, Nyzul floors were challenging, Einherjar was interesting but needed more mechanics other than basic unavoidable AOE damage from boses.
Basically WoW had little penalty for failure so they could make the boses have some really interesting mechanics, were FFXI was unforgiving so in order to beat the boss before suicide, the boss needed to be relativly easy. (remember a kid died trying to kill PW) If your saying wow is just easier than FFXI then you never palyed WoW at the higher levels, jsut becuase FF beats on noobies done'st make it harder, just meaner.
lol i know DR, man first few weeks of FFXIV when it was released that just pissed me off,
so many going: /pst, LFG, LFC (lookin for crack...) idk j/k....
it wasnt hard at all to see who was playing what before they ended up here.
However it did effect everyone still playing it now (until recent events), only way to get the new
ppl to understand is to either explain everything from scratch because obviously
they dont bother reading manuals or the New user guides SE put up on lodestone.
I hope they re-release the game with a better / useful manual for the new people.
And i hope they use the material they been posting on the Lodestone aswell.
Including a FF mmo lingo guide lol
I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
WoW had some awesome raiding areas, really cool Boss fights & some very tactical.
Thats what i wanna see in FFXIV, it's just that we are missing that part, there's no hard instanced fights.
Im just glad we dont have any exp loss atm, cuz that.. would piss off more ppl than we think.
Especially the few ppl that think SP gain atm is utterly crap. (shame on you!)

Omnitron in blues was challenging and interesting, Hard modes for a lot of bosses still haven't been succeeded globally in 10 man form after 5 months, I think that says something about the game mechanics, also peopel are still strying, I have never seen any NA LS on Ifrit, Sylph or Titan ever try AV or PW. If you try and fail and want to try agian for 2 months, the devs did a good job, longer then that and people give up, I don't think you get to say it isn't hard at that point, if you need 50+ tries to kill a boss. I wonder if anyone in FF history tried to kill AV or PW more than 20 times before refusing to ever go back to it.
I played WoW for several months. While i fully understand why it is so successful, i just never liked it as much as FFXI. In fact, i never really liked WoW at all.

Make it happen.
Honestly, I haven't had a lot issues in XI (maybe one or two) and none here in XIV. Not saying it doesn't happen, just giving my personal experience.![]()
WoW players hates FFXI players and vice versa, also this haters (from both side) never actually touched 80% of the other game..
from my point of view (i played FFXI for 6years before someone goin to call me a WoW-fanboy):
WoW is alot harder and engaging than FFXI, but i never really preferred WoW's graphical style and world, mostly because i played another FF series which i can easily relates to when i played FFXI.
Both games has pro/cons, it just matters of preferences, calling one better than another is just plain ignorance.
