Linkshell List, Friends List, Add PC Search & List / PC & Retainer Status Messages

First we need to implement a PC search function, not just a party search function but a general PC search function.

A Brief description on Status Messages:
A way to communicate to people indirectly about what you are up to, wanting to do, looking for group for. Searching for a group or wondering why your friend isn't online? Maybe they posted something regarding their status. We had it in XI, it was a great tool. "Looking for group" "Will be back at 5PM PST" "Wanted: Skull Eye Patch"

    Bazaar Message/ Retainer Messages
Allow us to post a message on our retainer so that people can find the owner of the retainer or notes like "Contact for trade and get a discount <('.')>".

    Listings
All Listings should have the following features:
    -Location
    -In Party
    -Out of Party
    -Away
    -Online
    -Status Message

    PC Search Listings should have
    - Looking for party Flag

Please add to this if you have more ideas.

A way to control your status:
/away - When you are AFK or away from the game and or your computer.
/anon - Name displayed but not current class or physical level.
/invisible - Not displayed on any list.

    I don't think I like this idea.

What if I don't want my linkshell knowing where I am or what I'm doing? Hopefully we have (or will get) a /anon command to keep that information hidden, especially during linkshell events people don't want to attend.

LOL. Commands that hide ones truancy are always a plus. /anon should definitely make a come back.

I should be able to access social features (like social lists) through hotkeys and without having to wade through laggy menus, like I can in just about every other MMO. I should get short notifications when my friends come online or get offline (toggled via a menu option and not some obscure slash command, please).

In general, one of the areas where this game hurts the most is the social/UI features, which is bad in a game that is supposed to rely strongly on party play and forming social groups.

Oh thats right, didn't XI have /invisible, where you were not even displayed. I think /anon status just kept your name listed and nothing else.

Edit: Added status control to the top.

I would love to see all of this... I play this game very casually. I log on only a handful of times during the week and I have rarely ever partied with anyone because whenever I check the party interface to see if anyone is recruiting, there's not a single person on the list. Because of how little I play I don't belong to any "cliques" and it's pretty much impossible for me to find a party. Sometimes I log in, do a leve or two and really want to party and meet people, but it's like the game is telling me I should just solo.

Agree, these features were basic in XI and they are a good tool.

This topic has been discussed for a while and people pretty much unanimously agree with the need of such feature. Even Yoshi P replied on this topic, saying they need to see how they could manage to implement it efficiently with the current servers configuration.

    Don't expect too much debate

Very sad but 100% true. This game is in dire need of some good social/UI features.
