how could you expect japanese or european people to accept these ugly character design?

I'm not offense, but the fact is Incredible Hulk, Juggernaut, Capt. America and another walking muscle are created for american while Dante (Devil May Cry), Solid Snake, James Bond are created for japanese and european market

lol... this is so ture, SE are & always been true artists in my eyes & heart.
They know art from both visual, sound & emotions.
(sorry hard to describe it, not really a UK or US person)

But well comparing FFXIV to WoW is kinda unfair, it should be FFXI vs WoW.
Id try compare it to Rift instead, cuz of the release years.

Visually Rift cant compete with FFXIV not even in 2011. (much less WoW)

FFXI & WoW however was a diffrent release year.

Playerbase however is something else, not all games that look good are good.

Besides, how many of us dont love our old FF games even thou some of them are still 20years old & 2D?

I'm sorry, but your comparison there completely and utterly fails because you are comparing concept art to in-game graphics. If you want to make a fair comparison, then compare concept art to concept art, and graphics to graphics.

Now things have slowly gotten better but i still agree 100% with the 1st video and that is really all that needs to be said

That first video was made by a biased and butthurt FFXI fanboy, and was posted on YouTube several months before FFXIV was even released. Honestly, how could anyone claim FFXIV was more entertaining than WoW when FFXIV hadn't even been released yet? The answer: they couldn't, at least not without being a fanboy about it.

I think I am one of the few people on this forum who have played WoW, FFXI and FFXIV heavily as a result of injuries, grad school etc, basically I have had little to no life 8 months a year for 8 years now. Anyway, that void was filled with MMOs and I have seen every dungeon in WoW while the content was still new, I have done everything in FFXI before abyssia and I beat the shit out of FFXIV before Nov when I just couldn't take this game anymore.

Anyway, I don't think many people want a remake of WoW or FFXI for FFXIV, but SE has definantly not learned ANYTHING out of the past 10 years. THis game feels worse then XI did back in 03 and WoW in 04. WoWs UI is georgous and modable and fluid and spammy. XI was cluncky but meaningfull. I was expecting XIV to be smoth, lith and meaningfull but apparently that was over ambitious. I wanted to like FFXIV, in fact I spent 3 months with 6 or so buddies I collected form the varous games listed above and tried really hard to make this game work, (granted this was before nov patch) but they dind't learn anything from wow. It is like they said ok we do not want to be like WoW or XI so lets refuse to put anything from either game into FFXIV regardless of how good it may be.

In short, WoW and XI had many good qualities about them and their uniqueness and advantage were in different areas, merging the two could have been a recipe for something amazing, but sadly SE didn't and we all lost out on a great oppertunity. If you can't learn from your own mistakes or the mistakes of others then you desirve your fate.

WoW had some awesome raiding areas, really cool Boss fights & some very tactical.
Thats what i wanna see in FFXIV, it's just that we are missing that part, there's no hard instanced fights.

Im just glad we dont have any exp loss atm, cuz that.. would piss off more ppl than we think.
Especially the few ppl that think SP gain atm is utterly crap. (shame on you!)

WoW gets a ton of unjustified hate. People wouldn't hate it so much but every developer tries to copy WoWs formula and they fail. You can't out WoW WoW. Blizzard did a lot right with the game even though a lot of people hate to admit it. The fluidity of controls and character movement is still hard to beat. The UI is pretty much the best around and if you don't like it you can remake it to whatever you want, also the way you interact with the objects or NPCs/Players in the game world is effortless and easy, two things 14 completely fails at in comparison.

The bad, the game is so solo friendly the whole way to level cap, and until you get into serious end game content, the community doesn't have to really rely on each other. You also don't level the different classes on the same character, your reputation means nothing at all. People end up only caring about themselves and they end up being rude and impatient, the whole community just completely sucks unless your in a good guild.

The content design keeps you farming the same raids and dungeons for a couple months until a new one is released and all your gear is replaced very quickly. Makes those hard to earned items less meaningful. On the other hand, farming sky and kings in FFXI for years was too far on the other end of the spectrum.
