I had 4 years in FFXI and I absolutely loved all but the 2-3 hours lfp... lol. I also played close to 4 years of WoW and I enjoyed that aspect of MMO as well. A couple years in EQ2 and Lotro, and they all filled some void in my endless appetite for MMO's. All mentioned are great games in their own right and although similar in some ways, are still very different experiences.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

I really don't understand these constant comparisons between WOW & FFXIV. And then the need to analyze opinions. Why do I prefer Pepsi while my boyfriend coca cola? While some people don't like any form of soda at all.

To make an answer short - because they are different. I'm sure there's plenty of "wrong" things with WOW, just like there are things "wrong" with FFXIV. But these things are still a matter of opinion.

And please, don't say FFXIV should add something found in WOW. That's like saying why doesn't Pepsi try and taste more like coca cola? Because Pepsi (FFXIV) wants to be Pepsi, not WOW.

This topic is like asking for people to argue.

death travel makes it so easy in WoW. I can die in the human starter area and runn all the way into orgimar as a ghost run around like an idiot, run to the shore and make my way to the blood elf area get a dragonhawk for my hunter die and run all the way back. I've done it 3 times.

on wegame.com look up ninjakari ninja skills (not looting) thats me playing a blood elf rogue when i first started playing (wrath launch.)

Who tries to death travel in WoW? All dying does is warp you to a graveyard; trying to run somewhere as a ghost and ressing at a nearby graveyard is just going to get you teleported to your original graveyard. Grats on wasting an hour running in ghost form?

umm there is a trick around this.

and as such a "good" WoW player you should know this. You can fatigue die as a ghost. And where you fatigue die is the graveyard your at.

I had several night elf hunters with dragonhawks at lvl 10 by running like that. Found some cool places too like a tourist trap similar to old faithful.

if you say die in the ocean off ghostlands you end up at the ghostlands grave yard.

If by good you mean not dieing enough in starter zones to take the time to learn a more useless way to waste time then...... no

If you are seeking a new WoW you can go try out rift ...

and in short, the good about FFXIV and 11 is the community ... I have a theory that says most of FFXIV and FF11 players are mostly playing because they are originally FF fans ... and FF fans in general are NICE, loving and caring people. And since FF11 and XIV are based on people and doing things in party is always a better option then you can socialize a lot ... with the well created music and pleasant graphics ... thats where I like to spend time
