lol see excatly what im sayin lol . I quit FFXI got BLU to 90 , SCH to 90 And Sam to 90. Got all abyssea gear +2 on BLU also got all my acceries for blu. But Abyssea was getting old and geting a job from 75~90 ( my SCH ) in 12 hours i kind of felt like i was cheating the game. Dident have the same feal to it. As for EG after my last EGLS all ran off because thay got everything thay needed and bounced i just wondered Vana'Diel killing random things on my BLU solo. Just lost all the fealing for 11 when i heard CoP was nerfed so you can duo or trio it hell solo most of it . I was like really!? wow so my hard 8 month battle finishing CoP and sence of accomplishment were all for nothing. I really Hope this game dosent become like 11 in that aspect.


Also as for this Post. Why are we talking about WoW on a FFXIV forum? I never played WoW only because i couldent get past how much of a saturday morning cartoon on crack it looked like , probaly why Mr. T likes it idk?

but ya I was trying moon gaurd out as lvl 1 since WA was full of "tavern" fights. everyone wanted to run tavers and all rp was in taverns..... >.> ya................

I was lvl 1 and just checking out the server. I made my way into stormwind (as usesually is the hub in WoW for ally side) ( this was just after the summer event last year nearing brewfest) I saw an opt to role play. The town was attacked by some horde guys. And i just ducked in the garden pub. I came out asked if they was gone. Then all the higher levels encircled me and bullied me calling me a Wh#re, street trast, horde spy, a Horde Wh#re. All because I was level 1 and human female. I was just testing out the server after getting my account back on after it was hacked years before. (i had quit due to play time) I took this to the server forums and pretty much ppl made excuses for it and I found myself on a 3 day ban. Yet eveyone else was ok. : /

1) Boring/one-sided PVP - why'd they give all the hoard races, pvp based racials, while the alliance got PVE based ones? WEIRD......
2) Instance grinding for Gear... BORING
3) TOO easy - Killing 4-8 mobs at a time all the time, is awesome, but doesn't make for much of a challenge. I used to just chain fight mobs on my Warlock and SP, until my Mana would run out. Eat and do it all over again. Talk about mob farming... BORING
4) Ignorant/Elist people - Far more prevelant in WOW than any other MMO I have ever played. There would Literally be fights in the main cities chat channels constantly.... LAME.
5) WotLK- lol, terrible expansion and what killed WoW for me, other than 1-4.
WoW is no means the worst MMO ever, but it basically brought forth the attitudes of todays MMO players. "I want it easy, I want the best gear and it best be easy to get, and I want to "PWN" mobs easily. It's why harder MMOs like FF11 and possibly FF14 will never do well in the west, SE wants you to earn stuff, western players are against this policy, they want to be given stuff, and WoW is the main cause of this mentality.

Nothing wrong with wow, except that many have been playing the game for 6 years and are getting tired of the same tropes.

I'm done with this topic after this post, its just gonna end up page after page of wow bashing and I usually don't involve myself in the bashing of other games. I'll reccomend WoW to people but I'd reccomend FF over it ONLY because of personal experiences.

In all the time I played WoW I made lots of friends but thats it, they remain "WoW Friends" outside the game they mean little to nothing in my RL. In FFXI however I have made great RL friends, I've went to a RL wedding between 2 of my long time FFXI friends and the EGLS we ran with, I've been to NY and spent a couple days hanging with a friend from my social LS and his family. Hell I even have friends in China(not RMT) and Japan that I planned to visit next year.

I highly doudt ozzy osbourn or mr t eveb Play WoW. It was just for show on how popular it was. And I know. Idm ffxi and how user friendly it is. As i was an off set up. melee rdm etc.... But ya it got easier cuz well the cry for it got louder then the actuall mmo players. The anti mmo crowd are infact taking over mmo. And making them into kiddy games.
Games should be fun and easy to jump into. But... should only be tailored to its audince of choice. NOT seek out other crowds just for $$$$

i see nothing wrong with talking about another MMO on this site, if anything there are some constructive comments that might improve XIV, the Devs can always take few best aspects of another MMO, hopefully they can just ignore the white-knights though.

whatttt? obviously generating more money is the best interest of a company and not only it is beneficial for the company, it is also beneficial for players as they can push updates even faster, better server stability with more $$$ in their hand.

mmo are only as good as their community. A bad community makes for a bad mmo. No one wants to pay for a game only to get treated like sh#t. I quit mmo i enjoyed just cuz of its aweful community. WoW is one of them Aion is another.

unlike most buinesses. Gaming is not just about money. Gaming is an art form. Making worlds such as read in books are considered art. Like the movie industry. Just because something is popular don't mean it is good or needs everyone to like it. MMo are that type of ganre. You don't need a ton of ppl playing, or bring in other types of gamers. What if pve players went into fps games and ruined those? similar concept.

Accualy there are PvE players that join in FPS games we call them team killers . Thay go around and kill everyone no matter if there on your team or not. Right from the 1st spawn guns blazein.

Thats why in 14 if you see people trying to be distructive call them out. Get the comunity to rise up on them . We From 11 really dont want our games to have these kinds of mishaps. Allready on my server ( seronia ) someone named buggsbunny was asking me for gil following me around nonstop asking me. then the next day i came accross him he was like Dark stop! i was like dude same thing as yesterday go farm your own gil and NPC your drops . He was like ohh how did you know i was going to ask for gil. I was like cuz you did it yesterday also. See its childish lazy gammers like this we dont need

In response to the OP, It would probably have been eaiser to ask "Whats not wrong with WoW?".

........ not that FFXIV can talk right now, but I see FFXIV getting better, WoW was doomed the second it was thought up.
