I know they said they're adding more customization options in 2.0, and I really hope that means they're going to design new face options. If they do, they REALLY need to give the Roegadyn males some better-looking face choices.
Fugly.
I generally really like the changes they've made in race design from FFXI to FFXIV, especially the Lalafell, but sadly I hated the Roegadyn faces so much I decided to go Highlander, even though I played a Galka in FFXI.
I get that the Roegadyn are supposed to look tough and rough, but that doesn't mean like they have to look like beastmen who got smacked in the face with the ugly stick. In FFXI their designs weren't ugly at all:

The Galka had sort of a noble, hardworking quality about them, and this positive aspect of their race is totally lost in the aesthetic of the Roegadyn. I like that their faces don't have to be so hairy in FFXIV, but otherwise the FFXIV faces are a huge downgrade.
This poor sod behind the Miqo'te makes that face every time he looks in the mirror.
The Galka AND Roegadyn always seem like the least played races in FFXI and FFXIV, and better face options would go a long way towards making things more balanced. The original FFXIV Roegadyn design we saw was heading in the right direction:
It's a real shame that so many of the actual Roegadyn faces don't live up to this.
Please support this post and help better Roegadyn faces become a reality in 2.0!!
