Since yesterday I can't play the game anymore. I updated all drivers. Reinstalled the game. Disabled my antivirus program etc.

The error occurs when the game is booted and I am already in the gameworld logged in my character. I can see the environment and take a few steps with my character until the following error message pops up:

I never had this issue before and have been playing for 10 days without any problems. Now suddenly the errors occures all the time I start the game. I am really frustrated and would like some assistance on this.

I'm having the same issue, started this morning. Gave has never had a problem on this PC and have been playing for a few days after coming back.

Zanelord25, does this crash happen when the game launcher is loaded at all? Or does the error only occur when you are already logged into a character. Please also try what Mookula suggested and run the game on Direct X9. Please also try changing the compatibility mode. Right click on the exe file (Default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe), right click it and select ‘Properties.’ Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and select Windows 7.

Ralliare, if you are still experiencing the same problem, please provide the following in your own thread:

- System report ( go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.')
- What you have tried to alleviate problem

The game crashes only when I am logged into my character.

Running the game in DX9 doesn't seem to make a difference. I already tried this before.
I switched the compatibility to Windows 7 but after about 30 seconds on my character the same error occured again.

When you updated the graphics drivers, did you do a clean install of them? Additionally, when you reinstalled the game, did you delete the locally-saved data (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). If not, try deleting it, but make sure to create a backup of this so you can replace it if it doesn't solve the issue.

You can also try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game. Additionally, make sure that you are not running any overlays while playing the game (Steam overlay, Discord overlay, etc.).

Try disabling 'Full Screen Optimizations'. To do this, please find the "ffxiv_dx11.exe" and right click it and select properties. Then under the compatibility tab there will be a check box labeled "Disable Full Screen Optimizations". Check it and click apply.
