Trouble getting spells for BLU.

Hello, I'm currently hunting for spells for the BLU mage. I haven't been able to get any of the dungeon spells. For example last night I Pf for Haukke manor 15 times ran and could not get petrify.

Am I doing something? Is there a way to increase chance of learning spells?

In order to have a chance to learn a spell the mob need to use that spell first - so never kill mobs until they've used the spell you want to learn!

Other than that its RNG - the more stars a spell has, the less chance you have of learning it.

If you aren't killing it too early, it's normal for it to take forever to drop.

Start the Boss, bring her down enough so she summons her adds, get rid of the bombs and other adds so its a little less hectic then let the Eye do his thing, I believe he has 2 frontal cones you need to wait for it to actually cast Level 5 Petrify, once cast kill him and see if you get the spell learnt message if not wipe the fight (final sting/destruct) repeat until learnt, did this last night took about 4 attempts - make use of Mighty Guard, white wind and if you run low on mana blood drain

I can’t even get the one from tam Tara. Isn’t that one supposed to be insanely easy to get? I’ve run it like 10x at least. It’s crazy how a completely useless ability in the easiest dungeon is so hard to get. I can’t even imagine what people are going through trying to get the better abilities from tougher fights.

I'm having that exact same issue. Ran it undersized several times and solo about four now and still haven't gotten Mind Blast.

With Mighty Guard and White Wind it's quite easy to solo. It takes about 17 minutes, so it's not terrible, but I'm surprised that I'm having this much trouble learning a rank one spell. I've seen the boss cast it numerous times too.

I'll keep at it. I'm enjoying the job thus far. It's something nice to hold me over until Shadowbringers.
