Prequel. It's from Bakemonogatari, which actually came out first. Chronologically it goes Nekomonogatari -> Bakemonogatari -> Nisemonogatari, for the anime at least. There are a tonne of -monogatari light novels yet to be made into animes yet.
"Hold SE accountable"? I hope enough of us are mature enough to recognize if something is cut for a good reason. That being said, SE has been very cautious about what they announce. If they're not sure about something, they give a well-placed "maybe".
I have received criticism for that statement before in the past, and my response is always that, yes the Rep and developers should be held accountable for their statements because like you say, they are careful with their announcements. Therefore we should expect that what they say will in-fact happen.
Indeed there are examples where developers have changed their stance on a topic without notice. So I feel it is important to keep track of their statements, because as careful as they are, even Rep make mistake, or leave things out sometimes.
Take this statement for example:
However, if you look at the recent beta roadmap that was released, you can see that "Fall Damage" is in fact a feature that is scheduled for testing. We don't plan on allowing players to jump from very high places where the height of the fall would cause damage. However, jumping from the places where you are able to will not inflict any damage. As for mounts being able to jump, I'm sure you've seen the new screenshots that show the party of adventurers jumping about while on chocobos!
I believe that players will naturally be vocal about features that they like or dislike, so I feel it's important to provide players with the information that devs have given on these various topics, so that players can base their opinions on fact, rather than rumors and speculation.
Perhaps the most important reason to keep track of their statements is because over the past two years, these statements have been building an image in the minds of players of what the final product of ARR will be. If the final product ends up being something the players weren't expecting, then it will once again break the trust of players that SE has been trying so desperately to repair ever since the failed launch of v1.0. It's important that players can go back to these statements and compare them to what is actually released in the coming months.

that comment is from Mid August last year....Just cause they didn't plan for fall damage back then, doesn't mean it's never gonna happen; they can ofc plan things in the future, that they initially hadn't planned. Now they HAVE stated that fall damage will happen, so they corrected that old statement; So i dunno why you're using that old statement as holding them accountable for anything?Take this statement for example:

Well, its a good reference either way. I reckon it will prove quite useful over the next few years to see if they follow through with things like the Golden Saucer, DX11 and a Card Game for example.that comment is from Mid August last year....Just cause they didn't plan for fall damage back then, doesn't mean it's never gonna happen; they can ofc plan things in the future, that they initially hadn't planned. I think it's more likely they will add stuff they hadn't previously planned for; less so to not implement stuff that they had planned. But it might turn out to be more difficult than they had anticipated to add something. But i don't think they would announce something, unless they have some roadmap for it already.
Gold Saucer wouldn't be hard to add, not a card game either
DX11...well time consuming at least. But if they make a good job of it, the game could look godly with tessellation displacement.
Thank you Vantol & thank you VERY MUCH LIen Coram.I am going to check this anime out!

I remember reading this in one of the recent interviews. They also said it will be possible to change this later on.
