I think you're underestimating just how scary powerful Dalamud is. I'm sure we'll get a cutscene showing devastation of the current landscape, but given what Dalamud is doing, I can imagine it just wrecks the place in one night.

Could be the "closed beta" period where only us account holders will get to take part in an event that spans the two weeks (or however long) that shows the world getting back to order.

Would definitely be interesting, and it would provide closure to those of us who've stuck around so long.

I think skipping some years only makes sense, you can't rebuild stuff overnight, not after such a big catastrophe.

If they do this, I will probably make my character appear much older when recustomizing. Grey temples and stuff :P
