Despite what you may think the ingame mobs allready do have some AI sub-routines that run in certain situations, granted alot of them got hit with a nerf stick becasue people didn't like it...

Red Crabs: Would not imediatly agro but would protect their territory and warn those entering their agro range.
Efts: Would "Listen" for adventurers who wandered too close (Stopping when they prop their heads up could prevent agro"

Some AI still does exist.

Wolves: Will always try and flank you when multiple are present.
Funguar: Will only release "queasy shroom" or "Hypna whip" if attacked when in their swollen or flattened state

There are alot more little things that mobs do that people just don't notice due to the brevity of the current fights. I would love to see some more AI for the monsters and have a few things come back. But it's hard to do so when players complain about it.
