Far as it's concerned, if you can't speak Japanese, it'll never get heard.

Okay actual likely reason is most of the gathering bots (I say MOST for a reason) are paid with actual legit money. The RMT BLM leveling bots are stolen cards so that's why they get banned eventually, since Square can't keep stolen money. But gathering bots using legit money? They make profit off of that, and likely will try to keep them around as long as possible as the other fact is, if you ban an RMT BLM bot it just comes back, but if you ban a gathering bot that uses actually legit money, they don't come back, costing the company from future money.

The whole thing about bots not being an issue on the JP side of things is a myth.

Which lamentably does suggest that they just don't care, because I have a hard time imagining they're actually that incompetent at controlling them.

Recently I watched 28 characters in a row with random names (such as fhjlkxxsd) appear from thin air in front of Commander Swift in Uldah, hit lv19 and promptly vanish.

I've also seen clusters of bots hidden in the wall behind the Company Chest in Ul'dah Hall of Flames. Yesterday I saw a pile of bots stacked on top of each other in central thanlann, they killed nearby mobs from lv3 to 6 then dropped into the ground and vanished.

I don't know if they get banned or not, but if they do, Enix are fighting a losing battle.

One thing I have noticed too is that every single bot I've seen, without exception, has a "Road to 60 buff".

Those bots do eventually get banned. They just do them in waves. But yeah, with RMT bots it is a sort of war of attrition. For all the ones they ban, more just appear in their place a couple hours later.

Not accusing anyone here of doing so, but it’s the only reason they’ll stay in business.
