Item durablitly doesn't even make sense!? Why would one hit damage your gear over the previous hit? At least this has to do with lore, nor is it exp loss.

Not everything has to "make sense" in the context of existing lore if doing so has to mean a huge inconvenience that sacrifices good gameplay.
And whose to say that the killing blow wasn't the one that broke your shield, pierced your armor, or shattered your parry sword?

Or all of those things at once... one hell of a hit.
Thing is, you start the fight at 100%, RIGHT befor you die it hits you for 400dmg your dur. is at 98% it hits your for anouther 400 dmg ALL your gear gets dmged like 10%(whatever percent it is.) just because you die, doesn't mean all your equipment is broken now.... There should be no difference to the 400dmg hit BEFOR you die and the 400dmg hit that kills you. This ties into lore and the game, my concept.

There isn't because the devs and animators didn't bother to put in special killing blow animations. it would take a lot of effort for no benefit. It makes sense even in real life, because when someone is dealt an instantly fatal blow, whatever they were wearing would damaged harder than it would have been if they survived the blow.Thing is, you start the fight at 100%, RIGHT befor you die it hits you for 400dmg your dur. is at 98% it hits your for anouther 400 dmg ALL your gear gets dmged like 10%(whatever percent it is.) just because you die, doesn't mean all your equipment is broken now.... Can you use your imagination for a bit an imagine that the killing blow is the one that you failed to block properly, because you were weak on strength? And that's the one where the monster's spell/claws/sword/whatever tore through your armor and mortally wounded you?

The gear didn't damaged because you died. It damaged because you used return after you died.Thing is, you start the fight at 100%, RIGHT befor you die it hits you for 400dmg your dur. is at 98% it hits your for anouther 400 dmg ALL your gear gets dmged like 10%(whatever percent it is.) just because you die, doesn't mean all your equipment is broken now.... You were just beat enough to lose consciousness ... your gear would suffer wear and tear. More common sense then lore.
My sentiments exactly.
As I've said before, I die for fun in ifrit(sliding is a good way to go) That causes sometimes a loss, but really it is fun.
PRETTY SURE ifrit doing hell fire should "wear and tear" your gear more than his slash -.- yet I would lose more durability dieing from that then living from hell fire AND getting beat up some more, with out dieing.... YA COMMON SENSE NEEDS TO TRY AGAIN!

Well it would certainly be annoying if every time you encountered Hellfire your clothes burned to shreds and you had to make a new one.. as usual the happy medium is a pretty thin line.As I've said before, I die for fun in ifrit(sliding is a good way to go) That causes sometimes a loss, but really it is fun.
