I would pay my sub to play through those games,lets say ff1-ff6, make it original versions so that its not competing with newer versions.

Eventually down the road they could have other games on it as well.

Ideally, they chat would still be seen on top the screen, as to not cut off completly from the rest of the people in game.

That would be neat but would require a lot of resources to pull off and wouldn't really work out. SE would essentially have to remake the whole game for each one to be compatible for in game play. It's not like SE can just slap in an item and attach an emulator on it and call it a day. Also would not fit in very well with FF14. You'd have you suspend your disbelief pretty hard for something like this. I'd say the chances for this happen? Absolute zero.

Also, those games are available elsewhere, so why would they give it to you effectively free as part of this game when they can get you to pay for it separately?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I read somewhere that, even with games from the same company, there's the copyright things, or at least "rights" to use the old material in new games or something.

It's way better if you buy these games in the App Store / Play Store, or download some emulator, than SE using resources in adding them in-game, instead of focusing on improving stuff for XIV.

#1- I do not think it would take that much resources, I mean that is just something people say on here all the time. You could create an emulator for it, and it would be that simple. instanced zone in Gold saucer, or in personal housing would make it easier on their end.

#2 It needs not be, this is why I am saying that it would be the "Original" versions, 8 bit-32 bit, all the other releases are remakes with modern graphics.

#3 Because I want to play them in FF14 and talk to my friends when I'd like. Also, "Original" versions are not available elsewhere.

Just want to say that making an emulator isn't actually a simple process, making one and implementing it to function within FF14 without breaking something else would be much more challenging.

EDIT: I don't disagree that it would be interesting, just saying it seems like a big undertaking without much payoff for a company like SE.

I would be happy if they would release decent versions of I-VI for the PC that weren't awful ports of their incredibly awful mobile versions.
