protip: if you are legitimately fuming about this and trying to antagonize and witchhunt players who leveled their minigame job faster than you approve of then i think you need to take a deep breath and think about what happened in your life to lead you to this point.

I think this was a REALLY bad move on their part. They admitted they knew an exploit was wrong but didn't have the means to fix it. This does nothing but reinforce the negative thoughts about their crappy programming code.

I didn't understand it that way (even though I don't defend them because I think there were wrong too)
The original issue had no real consequences until then so I can understand that it wasn't a priority. It's the kind of issue you say "I'll fix it one day"

But the real problem isn't they hadn't fixed it since all that time since the nearly-zero consequences. The real problem is they knew about that issue and they should have (while implementing the Blue Mage) thought about that issue and fixed it. They didn't. Here they screwed up.

Right because switching to a higher lv job and one shoting a spell mob or just a mob that's used just for xp before the spell is used or killing it right after the person pulls so the puller doesn't get any xp or get to learn the spell isn't hurting anyone one. /rolls eyes.

Literally the other similiar leveling method to job swap is to have a level 70 buddy (or any one that can one shot) to kill the mob after you tag it. You just have to not be in a party together, this was the other method people did to powerlevel, and has been a thing forever to boost a friend to 15 since ARR. So are they too hurting people? Else your point is moot.

Not if you don't have enough time to actually do enough damage. I had people kill slyphs for instance right after I off guard or sticky tongue and not get any xp. Also the lower level player normally has to do damage to the mob to get any xp credit before the lv 70 friend kills it. Also the instances I've seen were soloist so they weren't power leveling others just themselves.

Also the lower level player normally has to do damage to the mob to get any xp credit before the lv 70 friend kills it. I'm not sure why our experiences are different; I helped a Lv1 BLU over at Wineport and despite that they did no damage, as long as they tagged the mob first and got priority on the target, they got full XP from it when I killed it.

There are times where this works and other times where it doesn't amd they have to actually hit it a few times before they generate enough hate or whatever the game looks at. Like they can't just go tag it with repelling shot or fluid aura that no longer does damage. I've tried to help lower leveled people that way more than once and some have gotten the xp just after tagging it and others have not.

I can almost guarantee you, my BLU friend who only had water cannon missed 9/10. They were a Lv1 shooting a 120 potency attack at a Lv49, and we didn't notice in our entire time there them missing any experience.

Not sure why people are so outraged over this. Someone else leveling blu faster than you has zero impact on you, and is clearly not in the same boat as RMT. If others find it more fun to get their leveling done ASAP, and SE has temporarily allowed this, then there’s not much else to say. In fact, now that I know using this little loophole is currently permitted, I may actually unlock blu and get it leveled just so I have it there for if any further adjustments are ever made and I decide I want to pick it up.

I recommend the 2-person cheese method. It's way faster. Just tag a mob and have your 70 friend oneshot it--no need to wait between mobs for xp delays, you can just keep killing.
