This is a great idea! Maybe if they would give you the option to have your retainers to take up some of the jobs in the guild halls. The more people you have the more retainers they can contribute to the various duties. Bankers, Stylists, Vendors, ect... and maybe a little guild competition between each other. Have retainers take up guard positions. depending on where your retainer is at they get skill points for when they are used, the more skill points the more money you make from them being used. Not alot of money just a small stipend they also wont be able to be used as storage. this will balance out the use of retainers. Just spewing out random ideas lol.

That's actually a pretty neat idea. I could see it work kind of like the FF Tactics side-missions you can send your troops out on, or a semi-Sims type thing where the more they do a particular task (like taking care of your Chocobo or Gardening schedule for you) they get progressively better it leading to better rewards w/o you having to check it every day.
