    Returning player: DRG vs SMN

So I'm returning after not playing for awhile, and I want to participate in the current raids and such.

    Basically my question is:

What has an easier time finding parties, Dragoon or Summoner?

I understand they are vastly different classes, but they are the two that interest me currently. I'm not asking which one has theoretically higher dps or is more fun. I enjoy both the same. I just want to know of the two, where is the demand higher.

    Thank you!

They are both high demand jobs since drg is currently the best melee and smn fills the caster niche and can raise people

Summoner would have an easier time finding parties, since they can DPS or heal (by switching to Scholar).

Let's not pretend that playing Summoner even remotely prepares you to be a solid Scholar. The dynamic between you and your pet is very different. Don't cripple a party by "trying out" Scholar when they need a healer. It's a great class if you are competent but being unfamiliar in a high end setting where you need to mesh well with a cohealer and Tanks is not easy. Practice makes perfect tho so try out healing in a less intense setting first if it interest you.

Lets not be silly about this. Summoner properly played is as difficult if not more so than Scholar to maximize the job. If you can handle summoner to a high level you will be in a good spot to master scholars which is also a highly pro active healer as is lining up your abilities and having your charges ready for burn phases as a summoner in content.
