While I agree with the sentiments of gen pop here, it's as fair as it's going to get and all, there is one glaring point of irony here I think is being overlooked.

How often do you see a large group of 70s wiping, often multiple times, because they couldn't hold back on their DPS?

BLU might not be bringing big damage, but that also means they're not as likely to push an enrage.

Actually you'd be surprised how fast a gang of blues can push enrage with moonflutes burst damage.

BLU totally has a rotation. Its stack all your buffs/debuffs then cast final sting, get raised, repeat :P

Getting kicked from party based on job class? *shrug* people have been kicking others from parties for far dumber reasons since the beginning of online gaming.

I think the same issue might be in play for anyone signing up to an undersized run with a Lv50 class, and simply expecting it to be okay. It's a logical thing that if someone is recruiting an undersized party, they're looking for overleveled characters who can blast through the fight, and if you're joining when you're just at the minimum level for the content, then that's not what they're looking for.

Maybe they didn't explicitly ban you from joining in the first place, but there's still a degree of "what's expected" and it's not expected that a Lv50 player will join to run a Lv50 trial unsynched. It defeats the purpose of undersizing in the first place.

It might be different if you sent a message and asked for permission to join.

On this point, I would disagree. As the focus of this discussion is WT and EX runs, any player paying attention knows that the only way to get a clear for them is undersized PF. I've never had any trouble joining up for any of them, and was often welcomed at the time (yay, bonus tomes). Sure, I would often eat the floor on any mechanics pushed harder than squishy me could handle. But it wasn't as if I was seriously holding back the clear. At a point where a few 70s can get through easy enough, carrying a 50 or two isn't much of a burden.

I think it's less about the ability of a group to carry a Blue Mage and more about someone joining a group that is not aimed at them hoping to get a quick and easy carry and maybe get a spell out of it.

It's lvl 50 content.Not lvl 70 content.At that lvl it's only a carry if the lvl 50 player is bad/not doing mechanics.Contrary to belief to some bad players you dont need to be lvl 70 to beat lvl 50 content.We managed to farm it fine back in ARR with lvl 50 jobs and judging by your join date i can gurantee you had many carries by lvl 60 players on outdated ARR content.

That doesn't really matter. BLU isn't joining a WT party to complete WT, they're there to leech for a chance to learn their skill. Now I probably personally wouldn't care one way or the other, but if I did decide to exclude BLU from that sort of party it would be based on principle that this isn't a BLU carry party.

Small correction to this, level 50 is perfectly equipped to clear the ARR extreme primals if people are doing mechanics as intended, but that's not how level 70 players are conducting the fights, and there are plenty of phase transition attacks triggered by hp% (like Ifrit, Garuda, or Leviathan's transitions) that no level 50 has the HP to survive without having killed the "intended" mechanic, like Nails, Sisters, or Spumes, which these parties aren't doing because level 70s can just eat the attack.
