They're not particularly demanding games, if you're on PC you can get them on Steam and easily just run them while playing FF XIV and enjoy while waiting on a queue or something.

The Steam ones are the awful mobile ports though. Not only did the graphics get hideous when they smoothed out the pixels but they still have the mobile UI and the frames break as you walk. I would much rather have a direct nes/snes for the most part over the mobile versions or the rerelease versions with those horrible chibis. Maybe the ps1 version of ff1/2/3, those looked fine, outside that just a direct port

Y'know what, I've been around a while, and I'm not sure I've ever been aware of the existence of this. I know of the PS1 version of 4 (released with Chrono Trigger as Final Fantasy Chronicles) and 5 and 6 (released together as FF Anthology). Don't think I ever knew about the first 3, tho.

New mini games with leader boards arcade system sure
Rereleasing old titles
Pretty much impossible
Sure they could be inspired by them like a Donkey kong Jr clone with zidane or racing game with clouds bike
But the actual ff games
Too much to ask for sadly

I'd like them to upgrade that 8-bit minigame in first person as a nod to the older FFs. Don't believe they would emulate another game on XIV(mahjong aside) .

Could add a super adventure box sort of thing lol. It's a while retro style area in Guild Wars 2 "just because we can".
The Steam ones are far from perfect, but they're the easiest ones to (legally) get these days...The Steam ones are the awful mobile ports though. I mean, the Gameboy Advance had the best versions of 2 (as good as that thing gets >.>), 5 and 6 propably, maybe even of 1... But getting those would involve tracking down someone or some place selling them...
I don't know how I feel about this for a couple of reasons:
1 - You can play pretty much all of the older FF games on the pc through steam or mobile (or an emulator for those more difficult to get titles), even the ones that are "horrible pc ports".
2 - Being required to pay a subscription AND remain online to play an offline game is a big no for me.
I personally don't see the advantage of that if I can just boot steam/any phone and cut the whole waiting process/loading screens by 90%.
Too much work for meaningful gains.
Actually putting in emulators inside of the game itself and making it not crippling the entire game would be more of a hassle than it is worth it.

But why? The older games are on myriad of platforms and you have many ways to play them and if not legitimately then on emulators (which span from PC to Mobile to even 3DS) What is the need for burn dev time and money into a feature you have more than easy access to already?
