What "anti consumer bullshit" are you talking about?

I think they'll have very strict procedures in place so that legitimately what you want is hard or more likely impossible for the vast majority of their own employees (if not all, depending on the action (like full delete of some data)). Like a good data base wont let some random delete all accounts they service with a select all + delete key press lol.
Items obtained via fraud, as you insinuated as one of the ways they remove items obtained unfairly from accounts, is probably exclusively responded with account bans XD (and unbans if proven your account was stolen).
Also consider if they don't offer you a service then you might argue you shouldn't need to pay for it (if they removed an item from your account), I'm sure many find that silly but wait long enough and some litigious and grumpy person will have fun with that concept :3. Which means the better way to safely remove it would be to "unbill" it, and they don't want to run a deposit sort of rental service on these items.
So unless it was stolen and messed with during that period I doubt they have any procedure in place, even given a person with enough power, that'd be approved for them to do for what you'd like happen (obviously I assume but it seems like that'd be the best system for their money and safety).
