Movement Physics Crash when playing as AST

So I'm experiencing a movement physics crash pretty much all the time when I'm playing as AST. This appears to happen randomly, but most often when you get attacked while you're casting spells.

What happens is that Movement Physics simply shuts down and you can't re-enable them in the system settings, and you need to log off to fix it again. This is really bad; AST is my favourite class for many reasons, but I can't play it because this bugs me too much and instead of having fun with the class, I end up being too frustrated to bother.
I see this bug has been reported before, but I'd like to report it again 'cause it really has to be addressed!

Video: https://youtu.be/RuPwccn2hPM?t=352 (This is from when I was Miqo'te)
In the video, you can see the EXACT moment the movement physics crashes (5:57) and the conditions that occurred for it to happen, but it happens in far less chaotic situations as well.
This is footage recorded from my PS4, but happens identically on all other systems and platforms.

    UPDATE:

Upon discovering this, I surmise that the game has a lot of other additional "settings" that players cannot access, that are triggered in specific sequences to animate the skirts, and at some point when taking damage during these sequences, whatever script is controlling the physics simulation erroneously sets PhysicsTypeSelf_DX11 and its DX9 equivalent to 0 in the memory, when it should return to its default value which for me is 2.

Frequency: Basically all the time, at random intervals.

    Character name: Shining Wolf
    Retainer name: n/a
    NPC name: n/a
    Monster name: n/a
    Class/Level: AST 70
    Party or solo: Either.
    In-game time: Whenever!
    Area and coordinates: Wherever!
    Housing: n/a
    Steps:
    1. Use any AST spell while under attack.
    2. Movement Physics randomly crashes, resulting in your clothes sticking to your body like it's 2006 and looking very unnatural and wonky.
    3. Log out to resolve.

I omitted the rest of the template because this bug happens on all models of the regular PS4 (untested on PS4 Pro as I don't have one), and ever since AST was added to the game it's happened on 4-5 different computers (i.e every Windows PC I've had since Heavensward), and as far as I know it happens in the Mac client as well.
It also occurs when running FFXIV in Linux under WINE.
    Frankly I'm sick of it.

Given it happens across so many different systems and operating systems, I feel confident in saying that this is not a hardware or system issue, and that it is absolutely a client issue.
Please expedite a fix for this! I'd love to be able to play AST again!

This happens to me constantly when I’m on AST. So much so that I’ve stopped using glamours of long dresses or skirts (which sucks because their SB AF gear is one of my favorite outfits). It may not seem like a big deal to some but it drives my OCD up the wall.

I’ve noticed mine occurs frequently when I have to Sprint and then cast things while moving. Either while under Lightspeed or Swiftcast.

Yeah it's really quite frustrating. That's good information to have though!
I think it might be caused by the default idle animation when you have your weapon drawn. AST I believe is the only class where the movement physics are actively waving the robes while the weapon is drawn, and it seems the crash almost always occurs when the physics are resetting back to that state (for instance after a completed spellcast).
My guess is it might be throwing stack errors (basically it runs out of its allocated memory) so the simulation crashes.

But I have no idea how the client actually works, as the physics seem to be proprietary and not stuff like PhysX or Havok, both of which would likely solve the problem if they were implemented.

Unfortunately there's no way for me to actually test this myself without being banned for it, as it would involve editing memory addresses while playing the game.

It would be great if someone else were willing to take an AST out for a while and see if they also experience the issue.
