I just have to say, 99.9% of all gear is made for female toons, male chars get barely anything, then what little we have, the female toons now say they need more. CMON. you guys get some much stuff, they were trying to give males at least a couple of options to catch it up a little, Male Toons need love too *tear*

Wizard robes aren't feminine. The use of robes is based on a stereotype of what a magic user looks like, not based on gender. Legendary magic users of both genders are often depicted in robes.

Combat armour was usually designed based on practicality, not gender. Women who wore a full suit of armour for actual combat did not look too different to men. Not even in the breast plate. It is actually very flawed and dangerous design to have breasts moulded into the breast plate.

Removing gender locking doesn't remove the ability to design something with a certain gender or body type in mind. Also if you ever played a lalafell you would see that it is very clear that gear is designed with midlander sized characters in mind and then adapted to the other races. So they're already designing gear with a specific aesthetic and then making it available to characters that don't fit the original vision. Removing gender locking wouldn't radically change the design process.

Ah yes, the extreme point of view here. Maybe 15-20% of gear is designed with females as the main focus. The rest is either unisex or male focused.

We aren't talking glamour pieces only. All gear.

The streets are overrun by girly guys, and burly women; the MGTOW reaction/movement is stronger than ever and still picking up speed; the US birthrate is now lower than the level required to replenish, and single men are boycotting marriage because it is just too risky. And I don't blame them either.

I'm not even going to go as far as to blame modern feminism for this mess, but rather I believe this chaos we're currently living in is a result of cosmic male and female energies trying to restore the balance. IOW, the result of women suppressing their own femininity is overly emotional and effeminate males. This is just what I believe, of course. But before I head into a tangent, I brought all of this up because if gender restrictions were removed, trust me, you will see a rise in cross-dressing and androgynous avatars. That is based on the world moving away from traditionalism.
There, you calling "mess" people's way of life, the way that they achieve happiness, that's just disrespectful and at best very selfish because you're only thinking on your own interests by not wanting people to have the freedom of choice.

If you don't like to see females dressing as males, just don't be friends and or spend time with them, simple as that. As long as you respect people's choices, it's all good.
It doesn't hurt me at all. That doesn't mean I have to support it. It also doesn't mean I have to remain quite if I don't agree with it. It really shouldn't be surprising that there's still people like me around. I'm just willing to speak up.

No, you don't have to support it at all, but going straightforward against it, that means you're depriving people of having a choice that you aren't forced to take yourself. If you don't support it, just let it be. If people get what makes them happy, good for them!

Not at all. I respect a person's freedom of choice. If I see a male dressed as a female, I'm not going to stop him and project my views onto this player. THAT would be disrespectful. All I am doing is expressing my PoV of the world as I see it today. And of course I am thinking of my own interests. No one else is.

I do let it be. Do you see me starting up threads, or providing links to blogs/vlogs? I'm also not a dev. I don't make the decision to keep things gender locked.

What if what makes me happy is expressing that I value traditionalism? What on Earth gives you the audacity to tell me that I should let people be happy, then turn around and suggest I remain quite? You've got some nerve.

The way you wrote your PoV before is actually projecting your views into people. You want it to be done in a way that your PoV is achieved (in your example to the game, by never having gender-unlocking), which will hurt someone else.

But I won't post any further in this subject, because it seems that it's going in circles. As long as you keep your convictions out of harming anyone, it's fine.

You're really okay to tell me that your happiness is bound to someone else's misery? Call it audacity then.
