Just had to give up on self-destruct and final sting because ppl just let their choco kill everything. Send them a tell and ask them politely to set choco to heals, get ignored.

during the Lv.1 cut scene, the blue mage say that you must be the target of the ability to learn it, meaning the mob used it, while the Dev' Team said that as long as one blue mage learn it, every other blu in the party will also learn it.

Just do Halatali. You literally have 5 monsters to kill before you get self-destructing bombos.
And if you're even more patient, you can wait 'til Haukke. You need to do it for something else anyway.

Same for Final Sting, don't try to get it in the wild.

Same happened when trying to learn Self-Destruct. Asked a girl politely if she could dismiss her Chocobo, to get a "why don't you f**k yourself?" As a reply.

No problems with Final Sting, but people is being so jerk everywhere.

Can confirm this. While it helps if you have full aggro of the mob, if you participate in a fight with another BLU and the skill happens, you can get it. But it's recommended to have a party so you can increase your chances.

tl;dr: as long as you witness the skill in a fight, you will get it...probably

Guess what, chocobos dead or gone, people were still killing bombs. I got called out and "reported" multiple times because it was solely my fault and my bird that was killing the bombs. Guess what? My chocobo died and all the bombs were still being massacred by the huge group of players without chocobos.

If you are trying to learn BLU skills, then it helps yourself. You will not learn a monster ability until that monster does a full cast and the spell or ability goes off. If your chocobo is killing the monster before the skill you are trying to learn goes off, you will never learn the BLU skill. And no, you are not the only one being called out. People are calling out anyone they can see whose chocobo is killing off the monster. I've been using yell to call out "You cannot learn monster skills if it dies before it fully casts the ability. Cast Addle, Faze, or Acorn Bomb to get enemity on a monster without killing it" and people were starting to get the idea.

I have it on attack, because it is MY companion. It's not even the companion that I am calling out, it's the people screamingt "griefer, griefer, REPORT REPORT". As I said, chocobos are a scapegoat, I tested it once my bird died, and the bombs were still not getting any casts off because players themselves were killing the bombs. No one person was at fault for these bombs being massacred.
