BLU and EX Primal Spells

Has it been proven you can get those others from normal mode?

I haven't seen proof, but there has been rumours about it. The current mindset is that you are hunting the spell not the monster that gives the spell. If you can see the spell used somewhere else, you can grab it there.

For example, you can learn Plaincracker from the golems in N. Shroud, Tail Screw from Crag Claws in The Peaks, Loom from the Dantalions in Tam-Tara Hard, and Glower from Steropes the FATE in Coerthas Central. The first two in this list are personally confirmed by me. I also learned Snort from the Masked Carnivale instead of the actual Typhon fight.

This goes to make people say you can more than likely learn it in NM since he uses it there.

I don't really see a point in the spells being that rare. BLU as is is side content and I think with the spells being 100% People would probably be more open to helping you get the spell as well since you only need to run it once.

They do need higher drop rates. I did about 80 shiva ex runs to get the spell, around 50 ifrit runs before it dropped and this was with the first group leaving had to get new people, 40 garuda and no drop so far. Nobody wants to sit there and do shiva ex 80 times.

Based on my experience the droprate seems like its around 3-5%.

no its complete garbage the way it is. 8 blue mages can't clear extreme that efficiently and if a single person dies they are out of luck that run since no rez. Most people are having level 70s run them through which means learning primal skills involves NOT playing blue mage.

The learning rate in trial/dungeon for spells should be higher if synced and for how many blue mages there/non blue mages there aren't. I will gladly run everything synced and with a full blue team if we had a very good chance at learning spells. Since its not ill be afk in an extreme watching youtube while getting carried by a 70.

They should just make it require a certain amount of runs rather than having the insanely low droprate.

Locking content behind RNG is terrible design.

I disagree. People have started to notice that BLU's damage output is lackluster and I suspect the reason for that is because the average player doesn't have the Primal spells. Blue Mage shouldn't have put in hours of extra work just to feel useful.

Just did 70 runs of Shiva Ex carrying someone to get their spell after I got mine. Everybody left and finally the last person who needed it also disconnected. The drop rates are atrocious beyond reckoning. I can't fathom who would've thought this was a good idea. The learning system is horrendous. If this is why they wanted to make BLU a limited job, they honestly should've just made it a regular job with job quests or instances where you're guaranteed to get your abilities, solo, like you can get a couple from the Carnivale.

I've seen some youtuber grinding for the past 2 days to get an ability off Shiva. What a nightmare. Grinding nonstop almost two days for some useless ability on a class that can't even play current content? Why? This is why I played the Blu for a couple levels just to say I did it, then dropped it like a brick.
