BLU and EX Primal Spells

Has it been proven you can get those others from normal mode?

I haven't seen proof, but there has been rumours about it. The current mindset is that you are hunting the spell not the monster that gives the spell. If you can see the spell used somewhere else, you can grab it there.

For example, you can learn Plaincracker from the golems in N. Shroud, Tail Screw from Crag Claws in The Peaks, Loom from the Dantalions in Tam-Tara Hard, and Glower from Steropes the FATE in Coerthas Central. The first two in this list are personally confirmed by me. I also learned Snort from the Masked Carnivale instead of the actual Typhon fight.

This goes to make people say you can more than likely learn it in NM since he uses it there.

I've had people say that apart from Shiva, all Primal spells can be learned from Hard modes as well as Extreme. Is this true?

Did anyone think learning primal abilities wouldn't be a major time sink, require some luck and cost a boatload of frustration? Did the devs not state that learning abilities would be a low chance? The most powerful abilities will undoubtedly have that chance reduced even further. Especially now, in the beginning when BLU is so new.

Get back in there bluboy and just keep trying. You don't need to be rezzed if you don't die, and you don't need to cheese through it using a maxed out level70 either. If one is willing to for whatever reason, fine. But I wouldn't wait around for one. There should be so many BLUs running around right now that filling slots shouldn't be an issue. Can't say much about those who don't want tank or heal other than to man up. Someone has to do it.

Surprised I'm saying it, but I wish they'd both give Blu a battle raise and restrict learning spells to all-Blu synched groups. Then they could even set the learn rate at 100%.

I'm enjoying Blu, but it feels there's just too many easy cheats and shortcuts. You can turbo to lv50 via about 3-4 different methods and from there you just trade carries with a lv70 buddy to learn the instance abilities. Then you're done and just spam carnival for months.
The Blu toolkit is interesting and it could be fun to put it to use and strategize with other Blu's. As it is, we're max level and nearly filled the spellbook day 2.

Perhaps it's one of the upcoming spells, but I do wish it had been in the starting line up.

Diamondback is confirmed to be possible to learn from Hoard Amormored Dragon from the Trial the Steps of Faith. Just did this with my FC mate

It's really unlikely you manage to get the spell from that single run, tho. Have to get a new party after kill.

As far as my experience has been, people in EU do honor these agreements surprisingly well (it helps that the learn rate isn't as low as dogs). I was somewhat expecting to get screwed by the 4-4 Ifrit party I was in, but nobody left and everyone ended up getting the spell. Later did a Shiva as a 6-2 (one had the spell earlier and just wanted to help) and people were willing to help the 8th get the spell, two dropped over time, but ultimately the sole BLU gave up (reasons unrelated to the people). :/

But the rates are still abysmally low for how "strong" the spells are. And if you don't do these during the first days, you may find hard times later.
