I got it from the boss add, personally. Never saw the first add drop it in four attempts.

In the final boss, make sure to kill every add before the Manor Sentry, get this one to 20% or less, and then wait for the spell to be casted. If you don't learn it, use Self Destruct away from the boss or let it kill you. This way you will have another chance to see the Manor Sentry without having to run the whole dungeon again.

Lol 15 times only? Are you kidding me about bad rng you obviously never played XI where Blu spells would take upwards to over 100 kills to learn.

It is the sole reason why they are not willing to put in Blue Mage.
It is always a job relies on RNG in console version or in FF11, please dont complains

you'd think a quest required one would be a little less harsh than like primals

You can self destruct after killing the Sentry and not learning it.
