    Log-In Launcher doesn't appear

    I live in Cangzhou China, so I've already had problems with my ISP on several occasions. Lately. the game has been working fine. I played in Baoding China where I would use dorm internet as well as my hotspot phone, both connections worked fine. Now that I am back in Cangzhou, I can only use my hotspot phone. I have upgraded the speed so I am getting around 7mbps which usually plenty to play.

    To the issue, I start the game up on my PS4 and everything loads up fine, no problems connecting to the PSN, all of the News, Topics, Special Notices, the five side scrolling pictures appear and all. However, the login launcher on the top right corner will not appear. I have restarted the game several times, restarted my connection, used the VPN media streaming DNS for PS4 (which I usually dont have to use). Nothing works. What are the steps I must take to locate the problem where it is not appearing and resolve the issue?

    Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Are you using WIFI ? Alsohave you tried connecting directly to the router with an Ethernet cable?

    For trouble shooting, please try the following:



    - Disable background applications/Clean boot
    - Make exceptions for anti-virus/firewall
    - Update Internet Explorer:
    Open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    The first quote being "I can only use hotspot" means I cannot use any other method of internet connection which includes direct ethernet cable. It is not in the apartment.
    The second quote being "start the game on my PS4" means I started the game on my game console and not a PC (personal computer), PS4 stands for Playstation 4. I do not play this game on PC.

    Update: I completely reinstalled the game which took literally an entire day to re-download the game and nothing happend, the same exact problem.

    yes, i had also unchecked and checked them, and restarted my PS4.

    still no difference

    Thank you for the update Asradel.

    Since you can connect with your phone, it would seem that your ISP may be having trouble connecting to the server. I'd recommend contacting them to see what can be done. Unfortunately, China is outside our area of support, making it difficult to provide assistance.

    its still not resolved

    Update: I installed ethernet in my apartment. I am now able to login the game.

    However, the issue is still not resolved. I was able to play with my phone's hotspot in Baoding, but not in Cangzhou. I highly suggest SE to find a way to replicate this problem and find a proper solution. I have read through the forums and found the poorest excuse is to blame the ISP. To ignore this issue to is to forget the reason for the utter failure of this game when it first launched, that is, nearly complete inaccessibility.

    May I suggest an option in the launch page to refresh the login if it does not appear, if it were that simple.
