They’ve already stated in an interview there are no plans for BLU to “catch up” so if by “timely fashion” you mean you’ll be able to play it with your friends in endgame content, then no. If you just mean that you’ll get to get back to leveling and learning spells . . . Well, I guess that depends on how fast you’re okay with it being, because you’ll have 20 levels max to gain for the next year or so.

Game watch: Will BLUs catch up to level 80 during 5.x?

Yoshida: If we keep raising the level cap with that pace, us developers and players will all faint (bitter smile).

I mentioned nothing about endgame content. I know that's out of the question. I meant an increase in the level cap to keep doing what we're doing. I'm guessing BLU will always be an expansion behind. 70 is certainly a possibility sometime in 5.x.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

Fix is the wrong word for something that's working as intended.

Blue Mage, at present implementation, is thus far just fine. Whilst the limited aspects may be disappointing to some, the vast majority do seem to be enjoying themselves. Regarding the state of Blue Mage's power, I would argue that a few things need to be addressed to enter the normal game properly. Putting all of that aside, though, I'm incredibly optimistic that SE will eventually allow for use of blue mage as a standard class. Now - I will say that they should nix the 'LImited Job' moniker, and find something more appropriate and less demeaning. Overall, the future is bright. The reception of Blue Mage seems to be overwhelmingly positive, and one hopes that will sway SE's development patterns in future.

FFXIV stands to gain a lot of cool and unique stuff from the implementation of classes like this, let's give the devs a chance, yeah?

    I like your optimism .

I really want to see them keep trying weird things like blue mage. I just want there to be intention to take any job as you might expect one to be (blue mage, samurai, beastmaster, etc to also be playable in duty even if it takes them a year from release of the limited aspect (like 4.5 release, 5.5/6.0 "unlimited"). So if you're right and you're sure they're going to allow it for standard content you should pin this comment (not mine, yours lol) and when it happens be like "AHA" with a necro of this thread haha. I'd be full on board no "... plz add to this" if it wasn't called blue mage since I personally happened to really want to main blue mage in this game for a while now.

Kind of hoping to see 10k and 100k needles on blue mage now just to keep the power high going, getting 1k was a huge power jump XD.. feel like lord of thanalan right now.

Ideally the "chained" (df) part of blue mage wouldn't damage the offerings of the "unchained" (limited/no DF part of blue)- such that the DF part takes some of the best systems from limited and builds on it for DF/balance but leaves no scars behind to do so, allowing you to keep those 20k self kills and such hehe. Ideally of course lol. Have to call it today at level 35 but I'm hoping to see some videos of the level 50 spells soon, like doom and how that looks.

    - When you choose a role, your icon color changes to reflect that role.
    - By the time you reach level 60-80 you would have enough varied abilities for each role. It would still be a highly customizable job.
    - Obviously in undersized instances, and non instanced content, you could do whatever you wanted with what is available to you.

    Thoughts?
When you queue as a role there should be a check on whether you have enough role relevant skills
