Heya all,

so I went ahead and decided to collect the data on my stat rolls (after I already did some of them). Now my rolls are totaling 100 and I find this whole system very frustrating, since the player has no influence on the result, except to accept it or not.

So getting weapon upgrades early on is pretty simple ... but if you got a good / decent weapon it becomes harder and harder. Follow the link to see my last 85 rolls and some stat summaries (if you are interested):

Pyros Rolls List

I know my current weapon is kinda awesome for BRD, but it's nowhere near where it could be (critical hit wise). That's the reason why I feel like I wasted a whole lot of time grinding light in Pyros.
Don't get me wrong ... I'm not against it being hard / rare / rng-based to get huge numbers in one stat category, but having no influence at all is kinda bad design imo.

Suggestion:
  • Let the player choose which stat lines are going to be rerolled
  • Let the stat category and value still be rng-based
  • Let the other stat lines untouched

This would enable players to work towards their dream weapon and still make it hard / rare / rng-based / not easily obtainable. Since the player get's a certain amount of control over his stats this would feel way better imo and not like a total loss of time.

What's your opinion on the mechanic behind the stat rolling and how would you improve it if you could?
