Regarding lofts

I can't even get a tabletop item onto a loft platform. I have a PS4, the controller has no way to view the higher area, if you get up on the platform (or anything else to give you line-of-sight) to see you fall straight through, and no matter what I try the item just flaps around always purple, never placeable. I don't know of any shelf high enough to even try the floating glitch - even then, I'd never be able to see well enough to pull it off. Very frustrating.

1. Put the loft at a very low height above the ground.
2. Decorate it with all the furniture you want on it (max of 9 items though)
3. Move the loft up to where you want it.
