New expantion concern

Everyone is talking about the new race the bunny ear race and I want to ask the development team because this has been a growing concern the bunny ear race is well all females so I'm wondering how are they going to do that since its gender locked I mean don't you that is discrimination straight up against gender why couldn't he just come out with a unisex race like padjals like some of the other websites are talkin about that he is supposed to have the race from Final Fantasy 10 as a male version of the bunny ear race meaning basically is coming out with two races and both of them will be gender locked I mean that's kind of sad I hope that's not the way of it because otherwise it will show exactly how much he discriminates against gender because it is clearly proven through Final Fantasy 12 that the bunny race is all females

The viera race is not all female. I believe the FF12 lore states that male and female viera live in separate villages. Either way, SE will not make the new race female only. There will be male and female viera, as well as two different clans (just like all the other playable races).

"All viera that have appeared in the franchise have been female, although male viera do exist...Male viera create separate settlements and only communicate with the females when necessary, as the males are secretive and competitive for food and space, even with their own species."

You only see female Viera in FFXII, but I think they mention somewhere in the game (or in the Tactics Advance games) that males exist. Even if they didn't in those games, in FFXIV it's already established that males do exist. There's a possibility that they could make it a female only race in terms of playability, but honestly I think it's so tiny that it's negligible.

In FFXIV 1.0, only the male versions of Roegadyn/Highlander and the female version of Miqo'te were available for players to use. I believe lore reasons were used to explain the absence of the other race/gender combos that were unavailable. When SE revamped XIV into ARR, they took the time to create female Roegadyn/Highlanders and male Miqo'te for player use. There is no way SE would make the new, highly requested viera race, female only.

I highly doubt they would make Viera gender locked unless they made another Significant race that was also gender locked on the other side to balance it out. Even then, the backlash from the community would be so intense that they would have to retcon that decision and add the opposite gender for both races eventually. It just doesn't make sense from a community standpoint. The lore for Miqote also says that males are rare and the Miqote in general are low in number, but you can clearly see that Miqote are one of the most populace races on the game.
