Is sheet music released for performance under CCL okay for Bard Performance action?

I've read through the warning on using the Performance function. It states only original or specific FF music is allowed.

For this project, people have specifically purchased the rights and allow performance without restrictions.

The majority of Public Domain songs are from 1800 to early 1900 and would be fun to use in game.

Are songs licensed under CCL without restriction or considered public domain allowed?

Public Domain is fine most likely as it means that ALL rights have been forfeit and it is now basically up for grabs from anyone... as for Creative Commons Licence... It depends on limitations of the licence. Maybe if we had an overview of what it allows, as well as what isn't allowed, and what other restrictions there are on CCL, it would be easier for us to determine if it would be OK.

With the OpenScore site. Individuals purchase the rights, they refer to it as 'Liberating Music". You're not going to find Billy Jean by Michael Jackson. It's mostly classical music and music used to teach lessons. But the age of it fits with FFXIV.

If I'm understanding your comment, as long as there are not restrictions on the license that prohibit public performances it would be acceptable?

Would a player then just provide a link to the license for review, if asked?

Individuals purchasing the rights does not mean SE having the rights. SE would not have the rights, and thus it would be illegal for Square Enix.

This is an extremely cool part of the game that SE has implemented but to implement it, state accounts will be perma-banned if copy right if violated, and not give players some guidance is disappointing. At least a list of acceptable copy right options and the path to submit proof if a GM or another player reports them vs an unquestionable perma-ban.
