Ritsuka_Aoyagi, thank you for the information.

What are some things you have tried to resolve the issue? Also please try a cleanboot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

    Hope to see you online!

Tried clean boot, and just now tried running after clean install (uninstalled via Control Panel, removed local data from ...\Documents\My Games\ FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn). Still the same thing. I've worked on computers myself for 15 years, and this is the first time I haven't been able to run FFXIV after an update. TBH, I've been looking around the forum and it seems like you need to tell the dev team at SE Localization department (unless one of ya speak Japanese) that they corrupted the installer with the latest update, at least for DX11 users. At this point, I just want to unsub and wait it out, because it's something that needs to be fixed with the installer, not my computer (when, again, I've been able to run FFXIV after an update just fine for the past 4+ years).

You can go ahead and close this thread. I will make a new one if I still need help a month down the line.

Sorry for the double-post, but just as an update: until patch 4.5 I had been running FFXIV in DX11. Just disabled DX11 a while ago, and was able to log in. I had just recently put together from the other tech support posts that it may be an issue with DX11 since so many recent ones seem to involve it, right before my last post. You may want to advise others to disable DX11 first until they fix the bugs in the DX11 version of FFXIV as a temporary fix, just as a suggestion.

Also, definitely can close this thread now, as my issue is resolved for the most part.

EDIT: After playing for a while, it froze again. I can play, but the 4.5 update definitely messed something up.
