Something tells me that AF gear will involve the new dungeons. We know these dungeons are 45+, and the gear is 45+. I think that would be extremely smart, as it would encourage dungeon replay ability for people wanting to get what could be the best gear for grouping in the game.

while i would love to have that, if they take the same route they had in XI we will have quest to get our gear maybe the new dungeons will be involved by killing certain NM's or farming items to complete our quest, but i really hope they do the AF gear lvl50 not 40-50 although i have the feeling we'll get it like that 42-50

Is there any info that says we will be a lvl 50 WHM or whatever when we equip the "job stones"? I was think one would be a lvl 50 CNJ equip a WHM "job stone" and start lvling a lvl 1 WHM.

Jobs don't have a own level. They have the same level as the class. If you unlock it with 30 you get a job 30. If you unlock it with 50 you got a job 50.

I don't think, or rather don't want, the AF to work with the lvl50 dungeons (part of why I liked the sound of these dungeons, they are not 45+ like DH, Yoshi stated in the note that they are 50). They should not be there really. Cause think about it, I don't want to drag 3 ppl with me "minimum" to get into a dungeon to get my AF.

And sure, it'll work now, but what happens when all the 50s get their AF? Just like DH now, guess what? no one is doing it anymore. So for new players or someone who did not level all jobs to 50 now. They'll get stuck later with no one to help or even want to waste time doing those "dated" dungeon.

Sure SE are trying to make them more relevant with the new update by the hand over U/U items quest to get seals. but are they worthed? Are people gonna waste time handing those items for seals? aside from getting the achievement (if there is one) I dont see people repeating it since there is no guarantee you'll get an item. You better off doing caravan quests for seals. (of course that's based on speculation , we don't know how those quests work yet)

It says 45+, so gear is most likely 50. But to be honest, 45 or 50 doesn't matter as long as stats are fine.

Level 30 Unlock Job 35 unlock JA or WS 40 unlock JA or WS 45 unlock JA or WS 50 unlock JA or WS / AF is what i'm guessing.

Unlocking the job isn't the tough part. Fully catching up is- and that's with the level 50 quest that gives the final job skill. Pretty sure the entire AF set is given with the lv 50 quest as well. They've said you can equip any gear the class can equip while on the job so until you finish the level 50 quest you won't have the AF gear.

That is what I've understood from the info we've gotten so far, both explicitly stated and more implicit wording.
