ME TOO. Oh my lord, I died a couple times on the boss because of the music. And the mini boss beforehand, was that the same one that was with Sydney in that fight in the woods?
Did you catch anything else?
Vagrant Story is so underappreciated, I felt it was a really strong entry and still carries (to me) what makes Ivalice more than any other game.
I grinned like a madman when I saw the enemy models from Vagrant Story. Aside from it being one of my favourite games ever, I've found that few games have managed to capture the same atmosphere. I hope we see more enemy models brought over from that game and touched up to fit FFXIV's graphical capabilities. Especially when it comes to the undead, since they were pretty terrifying to stumble across - especially in the Undercity.
I'm also crossing my fingers for the opportunity to explore FFXIV's version of Léa Monde - perhaps in 5.0.
yeah that forest boss is awesome, and the first enemy you face is one too, theres also a very sneaky blink and youll miss it reference when the map is shown, and a quote in the making that is the opening quote to the game, and theres probably more ive missed, i have a sneaking suspicion that orbonne is actually within lea monde similar to how lesalia is under rabby in 14s world, but if im wrong itd be SUPER cool to actually visit it in the future as a raid set cause theres so much ground and story they can adapt and cover

The new lore books mentions a bit about Lea Monde which doesn’t appear to be a ruin but a city that is still used.yeah that forest boss is awesome, and the first enemy you face is one too, theres also a very sneaky blink and youll miss it reference when the map is shown, and a quote in the making that is the opening quote to the game, and theres probably more ive missed, i have a sneaking suspicion that orbonne is actually within lea monde similar to how lesalia is under rabby in 14s world, but if im wrong itd be SUPER cool to actually visit it in the future as a raid set cause theres so much ground and story they can adapt and cover
When Garlemald took over they split the country into two provinces. Lea Monde was designated the capital of the northern one, Dalmasca of the southern.
Honestly, the thing I remember the most when doing the raid? The gemstones in Vagrant Story are used in your weapons to give extra damage to certain enemy types (one for undead, one for demons, one for beasts, etc.). The one that lets you kill human foes easier? The Orlandu nemesis gem.
Kinda hoping to see Lea Monde in 5.x content, to be honest.
you have those swapped, lea monde is southern province
Lea Monde was absolutely stunning. Makes me want to finish Vagrant Story except neither of my PS1s work, haha.
Funny enough Mr.Yazmat himself doesn't consider it a canon part of Ivalice.
