We cannot get into Orbonne Monastery on Aether

We've been queueing for 60 minutes twice this evening on Aether to try to get into Orbonne Monastery. Once with a healer and a tank, and once with a tank, 2 healers, and 2 dps. Despite this, we are stuck in queue, with the DPS count bouncing between 4/15 and 13/15.

Is there an insufficient amount of players playing the game to even let a tank enter the instance, or is there an issue with instance servers?

The reason we're doing is because the solo DF experience has been unenjoyable due to parties disbanding, we'd like to play with friends, and we're putting as many chances on our side by getting friends together. But we can't even get in the raid, and it was released only yesterday.

Probably because there are lots of small parties queuing, so it has a hard time filling in the missing pieces.

Having a tank in your group also tends to make your queues a bit longer. Unlike all other content tanks tend to have the longest queues for 24 mans since there are only three slots. I'd also agree with Valkyrie that there is a chance because so many are joining as not complete parties that it makes it difficult to fill the gaps.

In my experience for most 24mans raids the fastest queue is usually as a dps. Other members of my FC were running this also on Aether tonight, I know they got into at least three separate runs.

DPS, and healer a lot of the time. Tank takes forever.

Tanks often have longer queues for 24-mans simply because you need fewer of them per group.

That said, Orbonne may just be overloaded from so many people trying to run it all at once right now. It'll probably calm down eventually.

The raid is actually challenging. Give it a few days to a week until a guide comes out so things get a bit smoother.

It's possible that first timers get queue priority which might be why you get almost insta queue the first time you do anything usually. If you don't have first timer you might have to wait for everyone to beat it (the ones with the first timer flag) once before queue times normalize. Have experienced first couple days forever queue after clearing it on healer, too.

I had a 30 minute queue the first time I did it. Went in as a party of 3 newbies, all DPS with 30+ on the clock. Re-queued with one as healer and it was 29 minutes.

Right, but it doesn't matter since there are a lot of people with bonus, right now too. I'm saying if you don't have it it's possible people are skipping ahead due to a priority system which makes the queue times worse for already cleared people. I'm not stating it as fact, just something I've noticed every time there was a 24 man in the first couple of days. Last time, my gf and I queued as 2 healers with first timer. Got in within 5 minutes. After we got out, we tried again as 2 healers but gave up because it was taking 30+ min.

Sometimes people get pulled into in progress as well as solo queuers which means less people to fill, small parties can't do in progress.
