I'm fairly sure that's by design; the loft acts more like a shelf or table than it does a floor, therefore things marked furnishing are unable to use it. Only tabletop items or things that can go on tables/shelves can be placed on the loft unless you glitch it.

See and it seemed like the loft was a solution to all the clutching, I just want to put my fumaroll mattress on it and make a hidden sleep area
