Say fellas, about the boss I had a question. First of all, I'm used to run this raid as a tank so in that case, I'm a tank (thank you Captain Obvious.)

So something has always been bothering me about this boss. More particularly during the add phase. I know the mechanics of this phase so it's no problem, and I can tank it just fine while in DPS stance with from time to time, if I feel things are gonna get ugly, a CD.

The thing is that, for no apparent reasons, I got OS 2 times, each time on a separate run, even if I was at over 50% of my life. Even my team was confused about that. As far as I know there are no tankbusters.

I tried to narrow down the possibilities:

-Auto-Attack? Not much of a problem like I said.
-Stack mechanic? Sure, but I can survive that even if I'm only with one person in it.
-The marker for the aoe that goes into a straight line? Got hit one time by that but I can't remember the damage it caused. Managed to dodge it, or teammates placed it accordingly, the other times.

So what do you think OS me?

I'm going to guess something related to the tether mechanic, Crush Armor. It's really tempting to pick up the tether as the tank but I've found that if you do, the auto attacks start to really chunk your HP so it must drop your defense value by a significant amount. Best to let the dps pick up the tether and rotate it between them so they don't die.

Missed that bit sorry. Not sure what could be killing you so quick there, only thing that killed me fast in the whole fight when I tanked it was crush armor. Never had a problem with the add phase myself.

Had a similar thing happen, although as DPS so probably less surprising. But I had no idea what it was either, it happened during the stack, but we were all stacked, and the damage was shared out evenly for about 30% HP across the party, except me and one other DPS got OS KOd even though everyone was at full health.
I can only assume that there was simultaneous damage from the AoE that was delayed due to lag.

I've seen quite a few tanks die from the tankbuster (Crush Helm). I noticed that before this hits the tank usually has a (cleansable) stacked debuff (up to 4*) on him. Haven't check yet what that was, but a friend told that this is a Vuln-up debuff. Using Esuna has unfortunately gotten out of favor by a lot healers I've seen in the last few months, maybe this was the reason you died ? When I'm running this with my BRD I usually use Wardens Paeon, Natures Minne and Palisade (when it's not on CD) on the tank.

I see what you are talking about but it always disappears (pretty quickly also) before the add phase comes up so I don't think it can be the cause.

One thing I forgot to mention though is that I get OS right before the wipe, when the bar fills up to 100%.
