Dx11 Greyed Out, Can't Run Game in Dx9

I am currently having an issue where my game crashes on launch. I get a fatal DirectX Error (0000000) when trying to launch in Dx9, but I no longer have the option to launch in Dx11.

I've tried a clean boot, I've tried disabling and/or uninstalling everything that could possibly be interfering with the game, I've tried booting in Fullscreen Windowed, I've disabled my integrated graphics in an effort to force FFXIV to run with my Nvidia card, I've completely wiped my settings from my computer's hard drive, and I have no idea what else to do.

I have an Nvidia 1080 Notebook card with updated drivers, and my laptop supports Dx11 for certain, as I have Dx12 installed. Not to mention I was able to play in Dx11 just fine until this morning. I'm on Windows 10.

Please let me know what other information I can give. I want this to be fixed, 4.5 looks like a romp.

This ended up being an issue with my card that I believe I've fixed. However! Now arises another issue: My game is running at 1 fps.

Turns out that my drivers weren't properly installed and only PhysX was running. Properly installing the newest driver for my card (417.35) disables Directx11 again and once again I crash on launch. I'm going to install version 416.94 and see if anything changes.

No, does not make a difference. Cannot switch to dx11 and it crashes on launch with the fatal directX error. I did a clean install of both this older driver and the new one.

May try to reinstall the game tonight.

If you are still experiencing issues wiht Direct X after the reinstall, please try changing the compatibility mode. To change compatibility mode, right click on the exe file (Default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe), right click it and select ‘Properties.’ Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and select an earlier version of Windows (most likely 8 or 7).

Nope, reinstall changed absolutely nothing. (Disappointed, I'm on super slow internet and that took me two days...)

Compatibility mode also changes nothing. It was set to Windows 8 compatibility mode, changing it to 7 does not change anything. A friend of mine told me that her version of DirectX 12 did not have compatibility for older versions of DirectX, so that's my next mode of action, but I definitely want other suggestions if there are any.

Did you do a clean reinstall of your drivers using DDU? If you did do a clean reinstall when using older drivers and it didn’t help, another option would be to reinstall your OS.

I did do a clean install of my drivers. With the driver uninstalled, the game actually will boot, but performance is throttled significantly as it's running on intel graphics.

Jeez, I really hope I don't have to reinstall my OS, my laptop has no disk drive and my internet is painfully slow. I already restored my BIOS.

Maybe I'll do that as an absolute last resort.

You can install through a usb with the Win 10 iso downloaded from the Microsoft site. You can create it on another computer. No need to have a disk drive on your computer.
