Fat cat mount?

Yes it's totally greed when the only thing you have to pay is a sub fee and the games themselves Fat Cat and the other Mog Station mounts are all optional items that literally in no way affect you in game, I support them because if I don't like something don't gotta buy it, if I want it I'll grab it. Would you rather them put Alphascape Savage gear on the Mog Station and have it P2W? It's an extreme example I know but saying their greedy is a redundant thing to say, they're a company not someone or something you know personally they're first and foremost a business.

Also don't bring your personal thoughts of how people are acting high and mighty you either buy it or don't it's not like the game is sending you emails constantly saying buy this buy that NOW and save 5%! So you can get over yourself with that people can choose what they want to buy and not buy on the Mog Station just because you don't support it doesn't mean a thing, hell I bought the Fat Cat and the Fenrir mount I have no regrets.

I am fine with buying old event items which you wouldnt see again from the cash shop but overpriced new stuff?
Im definitely paying way more than just a sub, I didnt get an expansion for free yet. And thats now the 3rd!

Also selling gear in the mog station would turn this game into F2P shit. And exactly because they are a company and want to make business, they better do not fool their player base. We all know how the community would react.

But yea you can do whatever you want with your money, but it doesn't change the fact that you would also profit by acquiring the mount for FREE in game.

I find this game gives way more in game stuff on a regular basis than just about any other MMO i played

It could have been... if the mount hadn't already been put on the Chinese shop where the players there had to pay cash to purchase it. Wouldn't be fair if they would have to pay then we get it for free in-game you know.

But definitely SE should really be adding more stuff to the Achievement rewards. The average player has what, thousands of points but not much to use them on, kinda sad it's still so underutilized.

Of course as soon as it has landed on the chinese cash shop it was quite clear where it would land for us. But it was also only released there a few weeks before ours so I still had hope that it would have been some ingame rewards before we got the hint that its going there.

Pretty sure the fatter cat mount was actually a simultaneous release. The Chinese announcement video I linked earlier in the thread had 2.26 as a date.

The mount was released earlier for China (roughly a week before us) so not quite simultaneous. Also some other links in this thread that you might have missed.

Seiryu is the seventh recolor of the same dog mount that's been in the game since 4.0
Kyubi and Ozma are just the respective bosses with zero changes (Ozma is kinda cool though)
The Hydatos and Rival Wings mounts are just recolors/slightly touched up versions of mounts already in the game.

Fatter Cat is a completely original mount with new animations , a new model with a completely original rig, sound effects...

How anyone can call this fair is beyond me.

To be fair. I'd probably have paid 24 bucks for the Ozma mount too if it was on the mogstation. I'd absolutely rather spend 24 bucks than run Eureka--that's for dang sure!

I'm kinda surprised they don't add the old trial mounts to the mog station. Delay it off course, but like how they add the ability to buy them with 99 totems. Maybe after a year--just throw them on the mog station entirely. I can only imagine the mad money Square-Enix would bring in with that kind of plan though. Or maybe lower them to like 10 dollars per mount instead of 24. The holiday items are a fraction of the non-holiday items in cost. So I could see that!

Then what is the 2.26 date? Those links are all referring to the video I posted when China had their own live letters -announcing- the fatter cat mount. You realize the blog link and the youtube video all include the same video shown in the live letter that is in the video with the 2.26 date?

There's no reason for them to, not with how bone-easy the mounts become to get. Garuda can be cleared in under a minute with just two level 70s. Some of the 50 exes are still pains because of health gates (I'm pretty sure Ifrit's 3rd set of nails is still auto-wipe if you push him through), but even then... 5m? Max? Level 60 mounts are getting to be just as easy - Ravana dies in a little under 1.5 minutes with 5+ 70s. I've gone nights (of around 3 hours) of WT/BLU skill/newbie mount farming on the 50 primals where I've seen 2-3 nightmares drop.

Besides all that, I really don't want this to be a thing. I'm fine with the unique stuff on the mog station, and given that most MMOs I played in the past had the same event year after year because they offered the same rewards (maybe eventually cycling them out so the old ones became unobtainable) I'm fine with the way they do event items, too. I'd rather content that's permanent stay within the game, however.

See now I'm thinking, did I mix it up with the Sage mount which was available earlier, but definitely the Chinese did get official confirmation the cat mount was coming whilst the other versions of the game didn't (we only know from datamining and seeing it after maintenance it actually was coming). So in that case Chinese players knew they would have to pay for it as opposed getting it for free in-game that some players here would have preferred. I mean you wouldn't tell one market to cough up dough but give it for free to another. Anyway possibly misread on my side, but we still were the last to know in official capacity at least

Literally same argument anytime anything gets released in cash shop.
Someone who doesnt want to pay money for it and then claiming that SE are evil and greedy because everything in life should be free or that if we pay a sub we are entitled to everything.
We had same dumb argument when the emotes got released and we will see it every time in future when se release literally anything in the mog station.
You will see the exact same people crying over it.
