I'm not asking for them to make the level cap 70 right now, I'm willing to wait for Shadowbringers so all jobs can cap at 80- and that includes Blue Mage. This still is not acceptable. FFXIV's most important aspect is the main storyline, fit with cutscenes and instances. Blue Mage must be brought to the point where it can participate in all content required to progress to the main story. This class might be niche, but it is not as overpowered or game breaking judging from the evidence we've seen to this point. There is no reason why it shouldn't be allowed to do the main story quests, at the very least. Seeing how a level 50 blue mage struggled against a level 30 enemy in Costa del Sol doesn't give me the impression of the overpowered Blue Mage that was so hyped up.

I think you're missing the target on this one. FFXIV's biggest aspect may be the storyline, but it's not the utmost IMPORTANT aspect of it. In fact, I think the most important aspect of it is the community around us. Bringing BLU up to raid tier levels of play will only worsen our balance issues more than before, so just wait until Shadowbringers and enjoy the job for what it is. We've been lacking solo content anyway...of course, people are free to meme "Solo Content, in MY MMORPG?".

The reason there are limitations on the job is so that players can get enough actions to actually do content with. A launch of a class like this cannot just outright go into dungeons and perform as intended. This is really more like a beta period for a DRASTICALLY different class. I am glad that they aren't allowing them in most duties since it would throw off the team dynamic in terms of balance. it isn't as much of an issue of overpowered but more underpowered. Can you imagine being thrown in a PUG party with a DPS that cannot DPS because they lack the actions to do so? There is a growth period for all players. Soon enough they should be able to open up content for them, but until then just enjoy the class for what it designed to be, a soloing class. I think they will allow the lifting of the limitations upon the release of the expansion or during one of it's patches.

I get that story is important, we all love the story of the game. However can you imagine doing duties when you have nothing to fight with? They have to test waters and probably require certain public testing to setup action requirements. Give them time, this class deserves it.
